Veterans Day is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. It is usually celebrated on November 11, because it is both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all 50 states.

Why do we celebrate Veterans Day?

We celebrate Veterans Day because we want to honor the veterans who have risked their lives for our country. It gives us a chance to thank them for their service!

On November 11th, it was acknowledged as Armistice Day in 1919 by President Woodrow Wilson to honor the soldiers who fought in World War I. The name was eventually changed to Veterans Day on June 1, 1954 to honor all who have served.
