LETTER FROM OUR PASTOR/CARTA DE NUESTRO PARROCO

4 3

Queridos Feligreses,

Padre David.

Dear Parishioners,

Thursday is Thanksgiving Day. The four days from

Thursday to Sunday are a welcome break from school

and for many people, from work. Even though all retail

stores prepare for abundant sales on Friday and the

days following. On this weekend, the last we will see of

the green of Ordinary Time until this liturgical season

resumes on January 14, 2019, it is appropriate to pre-

pare our hearts with prayer for the ensuing holiday

season. Hectic activity, distractions and even viruses

that make their way around, mark these days.

Let us resolve to take as the model for the holiday season, the

spirit of the Holy Family.

Mary and Joseph prepared in a spirit of silence for the approach-

ing journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem. They worked together

with charity and kindness toward one another to prepare for the

birth of Our Savior. Let us take this approach to every aspect of

our life in the days to come.

O God, who were pleased to give us the shining example of the

Holy Family, graciously grant that we may imitate them in practic-

ing their virtues in the bonds of charity, and so, in the joy of your

house, delight one day in eternal rewards.

Your Pastor,

Father David.

November 17 & 18, 2018/17 y 18 de noviembre, 2018 Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Parishioners,

The new Shrine of Our Lady, Queen of Heaven is completed. The shrine is

located at the entrance to the Religious Education Office and provides a

beautiful focal point for prayer and inspiration. The shrine is made of cut

limestone and the statue is coated to remain in good condition for years

to come. Additionally, a light is added at the base. I want to offer my

appreciation to our Sacred Heart Men’s Club for undertaking this im-

portant project.

Your Pastor,

Father David.

Thank you, Father!

Estimados Feligreses,

7 Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

YEAR OF REPARATION/AÑO DE REPARACIÓN Our Lady of Reparation

Immaculate Virgin, refuge of sinners, in order to atone for the

injuries done to Almighty God and the evil inflicted on humanity by

sin, you accepted with resignation the death of your divine Son on

the Cross, be ever favorable toward us, and in heaven, where you

reign gloriously, continue in our behalf your work of fervor and love.

We would be your children: show yourself to be our Mother.

Obtain from Jesus, our divine Redeemer that he may be pleased

to apply to our souls the fruits of his passion and death, and deliver

us from the bonds of our iniquities.

May he be our light in the midst of darkness, our strength in weak-

ness, our refuge in the midst of danger, may he strengthen us by his

grace and love in this world, and grant us to love him, see him and

possess him in the world to come.

Amen.

(THIS PRAYER WAS COMPOSED AND APPROVED IN 1904 DURING THE PONTIFI-

CATE OF POPE SAINT PIUS X AND CARRIES A PARTIAL INDULGENCE OF 500

DAYS.)

do por venir.

Amen.

(ESTA ORACIÓN FUE COMPUESTA Y APROBADA EN 1904 DURANTE EL PONTIFICADO

DEL PAPA SAN PÍO X Y LLEVA UNA INDULGENCIA PARCIAL DE 500 DÍAS.)
