Welcome to v2.20 of RM Unify This month, our development efforts have been largely focussed on some feature improvements that will be realised in future releases. These include ‘Linked Accounts’ for users that have multiple RM Unify accounts because they work across multiple schools, and ‘National and LA Launch Pads’ as a feature to showcase centralised Glow content across Scotland’. Because this work is still in progress, there are fewer things to mention which are visible to users this month. However, we are still pleased to announce three improvements that go live with immediate affect. They are: A new process for integrating your existing subscription licences into RM Unify, the introduction of Google Classroom into RM Unify and confirmation of our recent accessibility accreditation. Read on for further information.

1. New account matching process for Apps that you may have an existing licence for

RM Unify allows you to ‘hook-in’ your existing subscriptions and user accounts for the vast majority of Apps within the App Library. Previously there were two ways to acieve this: firstly via a process of matching each individual user account with the corresponding RM Unify account, and secondly via a Saved Password App whereby a user enters their existing username and password for an App, then RM Unify stores this for future logins. There is now a third way. Some RM Unify App Providers now enable account matching by prompting each user for their existing username and password when they first click on the App in RM Unify. Once they submit their existing details, the two accounts are matched together, creating one identity in the App. This process is slighty different for each RM Unify App Provider, but each is designed to be simple for users to work through. Once accounts are matched, users should access the App via RM Unify from then on. The App Providers making use of this feature in RM Unify are: Accelerated Reader, Accelerated Maths, Classroom Monitor and Show My Homework. If you are an existing Accelerated Reader or Accelerated Maths customer, follow these instructions. If you are an existing Classroom Monitor or Show My Homework customer, email [email protected] if you require support.

3. Confirmation of WCAG 2.0 certification for RM Unify

This month, RM Unify was awarded an accreditation from the Shaw Trust for the WCAG 2.0

accessibility standard. This means that the RM Unify platform has been recognised as being

accessible to a wider range of people with disabilities, including blindness and low vision, deafness

and hearing loss, learning disabilities, cognitive limitations, limited movement, speech disabilities,

photosensitivity and combinations of these.

Very few web platforms have this accreditation formally, so we at RM Unify are very pleased to

have successfully passed our audit.

Across our extensive customer base, which includes Glow, the national platform for schools in

Scotland, we can proudly say that RM Unify can be accessed as a teaching and learning tool by

more people, regardless of their disability.
