READ ME FIRST

Guide PurposeThis document is intended to guide users updating from TriplePlay versions 1.2 or earlier to the new 1.4 version of the application. It assumes the user has already successfully installed Komplete Elements, SampleTank 2XT and TriplePlay version 1.2 or below, including the full list of 140 Fac-tory Patches. Users who are installing TriplePlay partner products such as Komplete Elements for the first time should go to www.fishman.com/tripleplay/help and download the complete software installation guide for Mac or Windows. For those installations, the information in this document will be incomplete.

Minimum System Requirements (from the user guide, except Mac OS 10.9)

TriplePlay 64-bit vs. 32-bitTriplePlay v1.4 has full 64-bit capability with Factory Patches for SampleTank 3. TriplePlay can run in both 32-bit or 64-bit mode, but only one at a time. This means that TriplePlay 64-bit cannot load 32-bit plugins, and vice versa.

IK Multimedia’s SampleTank 3 is 64-bit only and will only work in the 64-bit version of TriplePlay. The opposite is true for SampleTank 2XT, which is 32-bit only. Because the plugins only work in one mode, saved patches, such as User and Factory patches, are separated. Changes made in patch lists for one mode, will NOT be reflected in the other. Moving forward, many VST plugins will no longer support 32-bit hosts, including TriplePlay. For this reason, it may be preferable to make this switch now, and install SampleTank 3 to enable the full list of factory patches in TriplePlay 64-bit. However, when doing this, patches saved to your User Patches list using 32-bit only applications such as SampleTank 2 will no longer be functional (they will appear in red) when opening the 64-bit version of TriplePlay. You will have to rebuild these patches using SampleTank 3.

In order to use SampleTank 3 and the custom sound content created for TriplePlay, you must install the newest version of SampleTank 3 and the sound content from our website here: www.fishman.com/support/tripleplay-downloads/

TriplePlay requires use of Kontakt Player 5.5.2 or higher for use with our Komplete Elements Fac-tory Patches. However, Kontakt Player version 5.6 and higher will no longer support 32-bit applica-tions. Users who would like to have continued use of TriplePlay in 32-bit mode, in addition to 64-bit mode, should download and install the Kontakt version 5.5.2 updater we have made available at: www.fishman.com/support/tripleplay-downloads/

For users only interested in supporting TriplePlay in 64-bit mode, updates for all Native Instruments products can be done through the NI Service Center application.

Users who follow the detailed steps below completely have enjoyed the most trouble-free installa-tion of their software.

DOWNLOADS

Go to www.fishman.com/support/tripleplay-downloads/ and download the following products: SampleTank 3 and Kontakt 5 Player

SampleTank 3 Installer Kontakt Player 5.5.2.1

INSTALLATIONS & AUTHORIZATIONS

SampleTank 3 InstallationDouble-Click on the downloaded SampleTank 3 Installer to run the Fishman installation of SampleTank 3. Even if you are already a SampleTank 3 user, it is necessary to complete this installation. This does not impact previously installed versions of the product, it simply makes it possible to install the TriplePlay customized sounds you will use for your Factory Patches installation.

Open installer.

Click continue.

Click okay.

Click install.

Click install.

Once complete, click close.

Installation bar will appear.

Kontakt 5.5.2.1 UpdateDouble-click on the downloaded Kontakt 5.5.2.1 updater from your Downloads folder to run the installer file. After you have opened the file, an installation dialog will appear.

Click Next through all dialog windows (default installation) until your installation begins.

Click Next through dialogs.

Your installation will begin.

Click Finish to complete your installation.

SampleTank 3 AuthorizationFishman does not provide an authorization code for your SampleTank 3 product. To locate this serial number, navigate to http://www.ikmultimedia.com/

Click on User Area. Enter the Username and Password you created when originally authorizing your Fishman Triple-Play IK Multimedia partner software packages (SampleTank 2XT, etc.).

Click on Serials / Authorizations for SampleTank Custom Shop (SampleTank 3). Copy the code to use in IK Authorization Manager.

Click on My Products.

SampleTank 3 Authorization ContinuedOpen IK Authorization Manager from your Applications Folder (Mac) or Programs (x86) Folder (Windows).

If prompted to update Authorization Manager follow instructions, run the update installer and then return and reopen Authorization Manager. You may be automatically logged in and taken to the next page. However, if prompted click REGISTERED USER and LOGIN.

Click Next.

Click DONE and your authorization is complete.If you have copied your SampleTank Custom Shop serial number click PASTE, otherwise enter the S/N in the field manually. Then click NEXT.

TRIPLEPLAY 1.4 UPDATE

If you have installed Kontakt 5.5.2.1, installed and authorized SampleTank3 with Fish-man SampleTank sounds, you are ready to proceed with installation of the TriplePlay 1.4 update. If you have not completed these steps, DO NOT PROCEED.Double-click on the downloaded TriplePlay 1.4 updater from your Downloads folder to run the installer file. After you have opened the file, an installation dialog will appear.

Click continue.

Click continue (Mac) or Next (Windows).

Click Agreed.

Installed SampleTank and NI products will be checked by default. Note: Either NI Elements or Komplete will be checked, but not both. Click continue.

Click Install.

Enter Username and Password.Click Install Software (Mac only).

Click Close.

NEW EASTWEST USERS ONLY: Complete the Customer Registration form and paste the code above into the field labeled LICENSE CODE. Then click REGISTER.

Download and install the EastWest Software Installation Center.

The Installation Center should open automatically. Login to the EastWest account you have created. Note: It may take several minutes for the Installation Center to response when loading for the first time.

Restart your computer when prompted.

After login is complete (may take a few minutes), near the top of the Installation Center, click the Download button next to the Play 5 software panel. Once downloaded, the installer will launch automatically. Proceed through the prompts to install the Play 5 software (the sample engine that runs the MIDI Guitar Instruments Series).

NEW EASTWEST USERS:

EXISTING EASTWEST USERS: Open EastWest Installation Center. From the pull-down menu on the right side, click Register Authorization Code.

EXISTING EASTWEST USERS: Enter the Authorization Code from Pg. 11 in the fields of the pop-up window.

Near the top of the Installation Center, click the Activate button in the New Licenses Available panel to enter the Activation Assistant. In the ‘License’ section select the EW MIDI Guitar Instruments Series products and click ‘Next’. In the ‘Location’ section select a location to activate the product. Unless you have the optional iLok key, the location will be your computer.

Before you begin to download a EW MIDI Guitar Instruments Series product, create a folder named ‘Play Libraries’ at the location on your drive where you wish to install the library content.

Find the EW MIDI Guitar Instruments Series product panel in the Installation Center and click the Download icon to the right (a downward arrow). When prompted to ‘Set Library Path’ choose the ‘Play Libraries’ folder you created in the previous step.

Please ensure you have enough hard drive space available at the desired location. The size of the MIDI Guitar Instrument Series products are displayed just below the download icon in the product panel (the downard arrow).

OPENING TRIPLEPLAY FOR THE FIRST TIME

Firmware Updates, Scanning For Sounds & Loading ControllerWhen opening TriplePlay for the first time, users updating from version 1.2 to 1.4 will receive pop-up notices for required firmware updates to the guitar controller, FC-1 and USB receiver. You will be propmpted additionally to scan for plug-ins and to load Hardware Patches to or from your controller. Follow all application prompts to complete these steps.
