“Normal” service restored in 2 weeks

Local and Fed Government Recognition

Use of un-licensed MW for the first time

Hurricane Isabel - Accomplishments and Improvements

-190 Cells OOS on Friday

-889/920 Cells back in service by Monday

-Generator back-up increased

-Generator “plug” installed at sites.

-Power provided to VZ MUX equipment.

-Food/Fuel/Housing Contracts in place.


Hurricane Katrina

• 450/700 Cells OOS 8/29• 30,000 Square Miles affected• 3 Separate disaster issues for VZW

– Cells destroyed by flooding in New Orleans– Commercial Power and Natural Gas Gone– Baton Rouge population went from 200K to 500K

- Provided phones to Emergency Service Personnel

- Provided “free” phone calls to non-customers affected by Katrina

- EOC structure worked well under very difficult conditions

- Employees and their families were provided special assistance

- Customer base grew substantially after Katrina
