LOCATION ON A MAP

Venice is a city in Italy, capital of the Veneto’s

region. It is known as the "city of canals", is

located in the northeast of the country, on a

group of islands that spans a marshy lagoon in

the Adriatic Sea, between the mouths of the

rivers Po and Piave.

During the winter, the temperature can drop a lot while in summer can

rise to 35 °.

The hottest month is August and the coldest is January.

Cool temperatures become warmer in cold and very warm owing to the

presence of water.

In autumn and winter, Venice can have flooding, especially in November,

every day there are floods. This is often due to the tides of the lagoon.

Venice is a small city, so it not need transport to get around.

Walking is possible to get from one end to the other in a half hour.

The main means of transport are the vaporetto, water taxi, the gondola, the

traghetto, bus and alilaguna.

THINGS TO DO HERE

The Carnival of Venice was founded by Christopher Tolive, he was the king's

chief secretary of Venice. He thought it was something necessary for the

nobility of this country could go to see the common people, then told to the king

his idea, and he strongly agreed. These were the principles of this carnival. In

this noble citizens had affairs with, but gradually everything was changing, and

so ended up being a party for the town.
