Auditing practice and behaviours
• Student-centred approach focuses on collecting
evidence of actual practice and behaviour
• Less focus on processes and systems
• A greater variety of evidence sources – not just
documentary evidence
• RTOs will be made more accountable for
identifying and correcting non-compliant practice
and behaviour and the negative impact on
students.
Audit report will follow the five-stage student journey
Increased student input
ASQA are using an online
student survey
• A number of questions
following the student
experience
• Current students
• Students completed in
past 12 months
• Result summary
shared with RTO
Addressing impact of non-compliances
• Increased accountability for non-compliance
• Where non-compliances have affected students,
you may be required to:
– Correct practices or systems to ensure
compliance in the future
– Identify impact on students and carry out
remedial action
• Remedial action will depend on:
– Student impact
– Seriousness of non-compliances
