1. Civil works1.1. Site preparation
Approx site area is 14.350 m with access to existing main road via side road on reserved site (see attached drawing: Site Plan). The erection of the side road outside the site boundaries and the preparation of all needed media connections (water, sewage, electricity, telecom, etc.) are excluded from VAMED scope of work.
The site area is flat land .
Existing trees and bushes on the site have to be rooted out where necessary.
Main trenches for channels, (for building supplying services) potable water, fire fighting water, electricity etc. will be excavated and backfilled with the soil placed alongside the trenches. Electrical power supply cables will be protected with brick layer and warning tape.
Gardening and landscaping: Green areas around the buildings have to be covered with humus and planted with suitable grassing and some trees. Trees and bushes have to be cultivated according to the site-layout.
1.2. Fence and access doors
The fence around the site has to be made of galvanized mesh 1.80 m height.
Total length according to drawings.
Site entering gates: metal, with galvanized mesh, manually operated 6 m width (or 2x3m), H=1,8 m
1.3. Roads, ramps and Parking1.3.1. Roads
The roads inside hospital site area shall be tared, made with double surface dressing on compacted under-layer with curbstones or blinded hardcore shoulder on request.
Front area of the hospital - emergency, ambulant and main entrance area - will be on the first floor level. Carefully designed and properly executed infill, road, ramps, sidewalks and drainage system shall avid possible sliding or erosions.
Design criteria are applicable to Local Regulations.
1.3.2. Parkings and walkways
Car parks as well as walkways shall be tared as well, made with double surface dressing on compacted under-layer, designed for loads of private cars, and motorcycles.
1.3.3. Ramps
Road ramps shall be designed according to Local Regulations or/and BS.
1.3.4. Patio on Ground floor
The courtyard in the central area of the hospital building provide high qualty landscape and good drainage.
1.4. Foundations
The foundations provide typical piling foundations according to static calculations and structural design requirements, based on the latest soil investigation report.
The area in front of the main hospital access will be filled up to the level of the Hospital first floor level, as will be done for the helipad. Alongside the buildings a proper rain water drainage system has to be designed according to ground conditions and local climatic conditions.
2. Construction works2.1. Main structural system, load bearing structure
The main structural system shall be designed as typical reinforced concrete structure with columns and slabs, and solide concrete block work as infill.
Static calculations follow the design requirements of the preliminary design.
2.2. Outside and inside non bearing walls
Outside and inside non-bearing walls shall be built of local made hollow blockwork (or solid concrete blocks or red bricks where applicable) min.10 cm thick, incl. all necessary lintels, girders, columns, inside and outside plastered, ready for painting, tiling or laying of vinyl sheet.
All walls have to be able to carry wall mounted facilities, cupboards, MT equipment, etc. wherever necessary, acc. to the approved detailed shop drawings.
Building parts within air-conditioned areas must have fully insulated walls (double walls 10+5+10 cm, with 5 cm insulation)
Walls must be connected with wire loops to the main structural system to avoid possible cracks in the joints.
2.3. X-ray room walls
Walls shall be lead shielded for X-ray protection, thickness according to standards for X-Ray facilities (max 150 kV) authoritys approval.
2.4. Facade, windows and outside doors2.4.1. Facade external finish
External finish to be 20 mm thick coat render with 3 mm grain textured finish, traditional.
Color of facade coating according to the Contractor and the based on Standard colors.Will be proposed by the Project Architect.
2.4.2. Windows
The windows shall be typical standard aluminum framing, single glazed, including insect screens fixed on aluminum or metal frames. Applicable details according to manufacturer and design standards.
2.4.3. Doors (outside)
Entrance doors - double wing, public and medical areas:
Doors for main entrances to the hospital and the departments shall be made of aluminium framing, with security glazing, acc. to standard hospital design requirements.
All main corridor doors shall be provided with standard handles, cushions and cylinder type locks including cylinders and door bumpers as necessary.
Details as standard by the manufacturer.
Doors for technical rooms:
Metal doors (galvanized steel or aluminium) manufactured of coated or solid metal grid on metal frames. Internal doors in the main corridors with trolley traffic have typical shutters with base plates and push plates (approx. 15 cm high) made of 1 mm stainless steel or 2 mm aluminium, fixed on both sides.
Details as standard by the manufacturer.
Ventilation louvers according to standard design requirements.
2.5. Roof2.5.1. Structure and Substructure
Sloping roof structure shall be executed according proposed design requirements and static calculations.
Roof truss shall be made of steel/metal. Main structural framing shall be especially coated with aluminum-zinc coating to prevent rust.
All details according to the manufacturer's production details and shop drawings.
2.5.2. Roofing
The roof shall be made of special coated profiled steel or aluminum sheets, standard color acc. manufacturer (protection coat), outside colored, support made of corrosion protected metal profiles.
The roof has to be watertight and insect tight.
All openings for ventilation with insect protection screen.

Corner guards on wall corners and columns must be made of aluminum or stainless steel and designed for heavy duty use, according to the function of the relevant room.
Wall tiles range up to upper edge of doorframes, except in catering department, laundry / linen services and CSSD, where the wall tiles shall be up to the (suspended) ceiling.
The grouting will be the choice of SLAF adjusted to the purposes of the specific rooms, acc. to design guidelines of the Project Architect.
In wet areas the walls must be impregnated by a water resistant liquid protection prior to tiling or painting.
Suspended ceilings must have inspection openings for maintainance wherever necessary.
2.7. Painting
In general, all walls, gypsum boards and ceilings must be painted with emulsion paint, primer and final coat. The colors shall be selected by SLAF and the Project Architect.
Washable emulsion paint in corridors up to 1,5 m high shall be provided.
In the operating theatres, the painting of the walls shall be epoxy paint in three layers or vinyl sheet. SLAF and the Project Architect shall select the colors.
2.8. Internal doors2.8.1. Standard doors
