Vaikundarajan Puts His Faith In Dhoni’s Captaincy Ahead of 2nd ODI Against South

“Dhoni is under pressure but we know him as Captain Cool and should put our faith in him,” says Vaikundarajan ahead of 2nd ODI between India and South Africa.

After losing two T20 internationals, India are yet to win against the strong South African side on Indian turf. Lot of critics have been vocal about Dhoni’s fading form. “With T20 internationals around the corner, Dhoni must get the team back to the winning ways,” added Vaikundarajan.

The 2nd ODI will be played on Wednesday and all eyes will be on Dhoni’s leadership skills. It would be treat and much boost of confidence for Indian team to win the remaining four matches. “But we all know South Africa will not go down easily,” Vaikundarajan points out.

Rohit Sharma is in great form and will be another player to watch. However, his strike partner Shikhar Dhawan’s form is a concern for the team. It is up to these two openers to provide a good partnership as a base to victory. Further down the line, Rahane, Dhoni and Kohli will provide hard-hitting support to add to the scoreboard.




The major concern, however, is the absence of marquee spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The bowler suffered a side strain during the last match and will be side-lined for the next match. In his absence, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav must lead the bowling attack against the likes of De Villiers and Amla.
