Yes, just getting this now and wanted to know where to make that correction.Saying 'we believe in the existence of ...' sounds like we're inspired by the idea. We

believe it exists and it should not be tolerated.

I'm also not convinced on the term objectivity or 'objective media', as we even knowourselves that objectivity is relative.

In terms of rhetoric, it might be more helpful and impenetrable to frame ourapproach with the belief that the existing Media fragments information to the viewer.This fragmentation dis-enables meaningful dialogue and participation from thecitizenry by not revealing the root causes of social problems today. We aim toaddress those root causes. We might mention something about sourcing as well.

I think our mission should also be critical and encourage critical thought...

I hope we can somehow open this up to discussion.

Yes - thanks Katie. I like this.I hope its something we can discuss over at very least a day or twothough, to make sure we can all talk about it.

A couple things off the top of my head:

Can we add something about setting an example for objective media?

This is obvioulsy a bit of a debate amongst us - but its a direction I'd liketo move in, or at least be able to - in person - make an argument for.

I also think the first blurb might come off confusing to some. Maybeinstead of "We believe in the existence of a culture industry" we say, "Webelieve a culture industry presently exists". Otherwise a quick read mightmake someone think we endorse a culture industry.

I also suggest starting off with "We believe in the power of the media tofree the mind rather than enslave it." I think it's a stronger umbrella pointfor framing the charter.
