representative democratic republic, under which the President of Uruguay is both the head of state and the head of government, as well as a multiform party system. The president exercises Executive power and Legislative power and is vested in the two chambers of the General Assembly of Uruguay. Current Environmental Issues

Water Pollution is a huge problem in Uruguay. The water becomes polluted from the meatpacking industry. In America we have issued laws to clean out the meatpacking industry but Uruguay has yet to pass these laws.

SolutionsOne of the country’s policies is to ensure

access to safe drinking water for the whole population as it is considered a value of their culture directly involved with health care.The main water consumption is for agro activities due to the economical importance for the country agro exports.

Solutions Cont.Though the sustainable development concept is

stated clearly pointing out the relevance of water sustainable care, in quantity and quality, it is imperative to improve the management of water considering it as a global and unique issue for the whole country as well as to coordinate different national and local agencies to conduct a preventive and mitigation policy to confront extreme weather events as floods and long droughts.

OpinionMy opinion is greatly against the slow problem

solving solution that the government of Uruguay has came up with. Water is the number one source of life in this world so this problem needs to be fixed and in the fastest and most efficient way possible. People shouldn't have to move like in many towns because the water and the polluted water is in no way capable of drinking
