Damien N. found these two large copper alloy, gold and silver gilded brooches. Here is his story: "My story begins when I gained permission to search a new field I'd had my eye on for a while. It didn't take long before I started finding things, including an Anglo Saxon brooch. Over the next few days I found more brooches and artifacts in the top soil, many broken by the plough. After a while I found these two large copper alloy, gold and silver gilded brooches. The plough had damaged and spread them over a small area. My excitement finding these items was off the chart as I had only dreamed of finding such things. The proper authorities were informed and a plan to explore the site by archeologists was put into action. Left to keep searching the site, I soon came across two deep non ferrous targets 12 inches or more down. Upon digging the first hole I came across some bones, so I promptly covered it and marked the site. The second hole I found human teeth, so I did the same with this hole. Archaeologists have since been and found it to be an Anglo Saxon burial site with many graves. It is being hailed a very important new site found on the east coast of Britain. Found by me using my trusty Garrett AT Pro!"

• Never trespass or hunt on private property without permission.• National and state parks/monuments, etc. are absolutely off-limits.• Always fill in every hole that you dig.• Do not leave litter or other discarded junk items lying around.• Always carry out all rubbish and dug targets with you when you leave a search area.• Use reasonable caution in digging toward any target, particularly in areas where you are uncertain of the ground conditions.• Keep informed on and obey all local and national legislation relating to the discovery and reporting of found treasures.
Charles Garrett always urged his fellow searchers to conduct themselves as responsible treasure hunters and to leave their hunt areas in better condition than they found them. Please follow your local directives during the current health crisis, but when you are able to safely enjoy detecting, here are just a few of his keys to good conduct in the field:
