UPDATES’15

Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology (SCET) is one of the prime Institutions

offering Technical Education in field of Engineering since 1995. Faculty of Computer Engineering

Department has around 500 students who are molded in engineering finely grinned into the latest

Technology. To exhibit the talents of students UPDATES' is conducted every year since 2002.

Various Technical events are conducted and students get an opportunity to participate as well as

coordinate the events. This helps them to develop their inter-personal skills like team work, leadership

and technical skills to manage resources. This year also UPDATES'15 was a great gala success with a

huge participation of 888 participants from various disciplines in the college.

UPDATES'15 comprised of the events like Tech Thought, Core Engg., Check Mate, Zodiac,

Conundrum and Crazy Spider and Pre-UPDATES'15 CO-CREO, consisting of events like Rangoli

Making, Collage Making, Poster Making, On the Spot Painting/Cartooning, Write and Rhyme and

Cultural events like Dance and Drama, that had explored the creative minds and talents of the

students through their innovative ideas that were gracefully cherished and enjoyed by all the

participants.

UPDATES'15 was scheduled on 18th and 19th September, 2015. The details of various events are as

follows:

Tech Thought

“MESMERIZE AND MAGNETIZE YOUR INNOVATIVE PRESENTATION”

Paper presentation event to showcase presentation skills of participants on technical topics. This also

helps in developing their skills for certain evaluation parameters during semester like Active Learning

assignments. Recent research areas such as Haptic Technology, Ambient Intelligence, The anatomy of

large scale, Anatomy of hyper textual web search engine were the topics of knowledge sharing in this

event.

This event exhibits hacking skills by attacking opponent’s machine in a network and

protecting/recovering their own machine from their attacks.

This events composed of technical puzzle in the form of cross-word with required clues to solve the

Crazy Spider

“LET'S COMPREHEND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN"

This event divided in two rounds, the first round WEB SPIDER where participants are shown one

image and they have to find the exact image using any search engine and Second round, QUESTIO

which consists of analytical and logical reasoning questions to develop their aptitude skills, a platform

to explore ones cognitive abilities on logic base quiz to unleash the inherent knowledge and skills.

“TEASE YOUR BRAIN”

It is a code breaking competition where participants have to solve the puzzles within given time. This

requires loads of logic as well basic computer skills & is really fun. Cryptography knowledge is pre-

requisite to accept the challenge.

This event comprised of two rounds, first round “FIX IT” which is debugging and second round is

“CODEX” which is coding of given problems.

Valedictory

There was huge participation and a learning experience as well. It’s well said “Good start best end”.

Valedictory Function was scheduled on 19th September, 2015 at 2:00 pm in Tifac Core Seminar Hall.

Felicitation of various award winners and concluding remarks of UPDATES'15 in this function are the

highlights of the event. Participants were excited to receive the prizes and to be honored by their own

faculties.

Post UPDATES’15 Event: Mock Test

Mock test for improving aptitude and logical reasoning skills is conducted as part of sponsorship by

Banking Academy on 30th September .This will help participants to know n understand their

potential areas for qualifying in various competitive exams in government n private sector. Around 2 00

participants tests their skills by attempting this test which help for Recruitment and placement.
