Research Data Canada Update
RECONNECT 14November 20, 2014
Research data cannot be the responsibility of one organization – the responsibility lies with multiple stakeholders all of whom have responsibilities that
must be exercised in co-ordination.
RDC is the convenor that brings the stakeholders together.
RDC develops strategy, promotes education and training in data skills, measures progress, brings attention to gaps, facilitates communication and partnerships among data initiatives and those organizations that operate elements of data infrastructure, brokers solution development, and acts as point of contact for
Canada in international data initiatives. RDC accomplishes its work entirely through the active engagement of its
stakeholders!RDC brings focus and coordination to that engagement, so all can discharge their
roles with data in alignment.
