your alternate route in these situations! Its called you live and you learn! Paymore attention, slow down, and just chill out this advice works for prettymuch every aspect of life.

When you hear of an accident, why isnt the first thought Oh my God! I hopeeveryone is OK. I hope its no one I know. And when you realize its no one

you know, you should think Oh, God! Its SOMEONES loved ones. Andthen your mind should travel to a time when you lost a loved one from

ANYTHING not just an accident. Maybe you have been a victim of an accidentor even a hit-and-run victim (like me, WHILE 7 MONTHS PREGNANT!!!).No matter how big or small , a ny unnatural movement of a vehicle ca n causephysical injuries! So where is the empathy for a human being who has beeninjured?!?! I wonder how many of you who have posted such cruel and selfish

words live a life where you are responsible for helping others (sad to say)...How many of you complaining about getting home dont even spend qualitytime with your families when you get there (pretty common).Pay attention, slow down, and just chill out remember that.To the intelligent folk who made a legitimate comment, thank you!

Annoyed Your comments seem to make the case that Philip was just aninnocent victim of a random event that caused his vehicle to veer off the road.Im sorry to say, it appears that Philip is cause of his own death. People drive55-60mph on that road (ALL THE TIME) and dont end up in horrific carflipping accidents. Obviously this guy was speeding, lost control, and

wrecked. Most likely it was a combination of Speed, Recklessness, and Over

Correction once he was leaving the road.

Hopefully he had Life Insurance to care for his family.

Testimony=========Thu, May 03 at 08:04 AM by Witness

I was a police witness, directly behind the sedan that caused the accident. Ihad been next to the sedan at the intersection at Sycolin and also on 7 - there

was no cell phone use. He drifted off the road and then the card startingflipping.

I feel badly for the people left behind, sure, but if a person wasacting irresponsibly then I dont grieve for that individual. I have spent 6 outof the last 10 years of my life in a combat zone and have grieved enough over

family moved here from a NC military base about a year ago with their smallchildren. I believe he was still working nights .... His wife has no family inthe area, from my house I listened to her wailing into the wee hours of themorning. In a heartbeat she has lost everything, her husband, her childrensfather, as well as her only source of income to support those little ones. Myown husband was stuck in this traffic on his way home yesterday - althoughnot as bad as he could have been. We DID complain about it, but he had noidea it was because of an accident NOR that it would hit so close to home.

With him working nights, I have my own speculation as to wha t may havecontributed to the accident - but I have no right to make a conclusion. Ive

been stupid enough to drive exhausted before, for no other reason than Iwanted to get home to my family. Rolling down the windows, turning up the

stereo, raising my eyebrows because that will somehow keep my eyes open. There are little kids next door to me that will grow up without their Daddy, alife was lost, people - please dont make assumptions, w itnesses ha ve told youspeed or cell phone usage didnt appear to be the issue. My heart goes out tothe young mother next door & those babies, it could have been any one of us.Please bring my own husband home safely to me this evening - hug yourfamily & tell them how much you love them ... for you never know when yourlast day with them may be.

People fail to realize in a fatal auto accident a reconstruction team usually iscalled in due to find out the facts of the accident. We cannot assume speed, alcohol or drugs were a factor in this fatal accident. Someone lost a son,

brother, husband and loved one. Yes we get angry when traffic backs up butyou all fail to realize that it is the politicians that wont fund additional roadsto be built ... Or the developers that build all these homes adding traffic tothese roads. So if an accident prevented you from getting home on time justrelax and remember accidents do happen & a life was lost!!! At 90 Miles Per Hour, you are traveling 132/feet per second. Thats about 1/2 afootball field every second. Just hitting a dip in the road could throw off yoursteering and leave you unable to recover. I wouldnt be surprised if some roadcondition (dips, oil, etc) might have caused Philip Greens vehicle to veer offthe road. And once that happened, at 90+/mph, recovery would have beenimpossible. The end result would have been the Laws of Physics moving intothe driver seat.

Double the Speed = Quadruple the Kinetic Energy

Kinetic energy = mv(m = mass of car, v = speed of car)

As you double your speed, your kinetic energy increases by 2 = 4 times.

Lets imagine for just a moment that this was an evacuation and there was atoxic cloud of gas chasing you out of Northern VA. Try to remove the loss oflife from your mind as terrible as it is. Now ask yourself, do the current roadsoffer enough lanes to safely and quickly evacuate our rapidly growingpopulation? This is just one of the many wake-up calls that we are receiving.Do we want to suffer the fate of New Orleans? (the levy will hold) I say itstime to take it upon ourselves to have a very candid conversation with ourelected officials, colleagues, fellow tax payers and all vote to expand everyroad, extend every turn lane and move toward offering as many roads possible

to safely and quickly carry our citizens. God bless you all- republican, democrats, independent or other. Lets do the right thing and look at the bigpicture. We need alternate routes with more lanes. Alternate methods wouldreduce the traffic as well yes I am talking about the Metro line. And whereare the overpasses at Sycolin and Belmont ridge?

@Mayor of Mayberry...really.you think anyone else would haveinvestigated faster?? Gee, what about the accident on 15 a couple weekendsago? That took hours as well to investigate and the LPD werent in charge ofthat. Anytime there is a fatality the time involved to investigate increasesdramatically and this a ccident was much more involved by crossing themedian and hitting oncoming traffic, injuring other passengers, flipping over, displacing the other vehicle etc. Too bad there was a traffic mess, at least al lthose stuck in traffic got to go home.......why cant people stop complainingabout the things tha t in the end dont matter. Someone died and the LPD didtheir best to investigate completely so all questions would be answered.

First, my heart goes out to all the families involved in this serious acccident.

On another note, I would like to educate some people on the training receivedby the officers that are here to serve, protect and to keep our lives safe. Servingand protecting mean giving tickets to those who break the law, i.e. speeders, unsafe drivers, people who park illegally a nd the list is exhaustive. They arenot out to get us but are ticketing as reparation for not driving safely andultimately as a reminder to pay attention.

Secondly, the State Police, are not trained more than local police. In face, ourdeputies training is actually more extensive since they may be required to workin ja ils. Those out there that think the State Police outrank are police areseriously mistaken. Each officer and deputy is properly trained through a long,

    vigorous, scrutinous process.

The cause of most accidents in Loudoun are because there are too manyRepublicans on our roads. If the liberals would quit selling all those cellphones the Republicans would not have anything to do except pay attention tothe road or maybe take a gander at the occasional cow or horse. Praise be toour liberals that help us only eat organic and buy Japanese. They even helpthe weed keep flowing to calm our minds. Peace be with you my children.

I find it ironic that you choose to point the finger about the lack of decency onme and other posters from our opinions on other threads for that on this one.I chose to point out that Loudoun is full of inconsiderate people who routinely

blame victims and innocent people by warping the facts.

In other words, apparently I am not entitled to an opinion on this matterbecause I chose to disagree with the LCRC, the Republican Board - specificallyKen Reid, Janet Clarke, Geary Higgins, and Eugune Delgadio.

Just remember, the record shows you are the one who brought up Ken Reidsappaling driving record - not me.
