As the weather gets cooler, water bottles are no longer needed. We will provide opportunities for the students to get drinks when needed. Friendly reminder: We have an afternoon snack daily, please provide a healthy snack for your child. For the days your child forgets his or her snack, one will be provided. We did lots of work with the alphabet and our names. We started the week reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom . The students had opportunities to practice putting the letters in alphabetical order, sorting the letters by their formation and matching lowercase to uppercase letters. This week we also read Chrysanthemum . We discussed more than and less than when comparing the letters in our names. Our favorite project this week was our name people! The students stamped their names and made a flip book with beginning sounds to match each letter in their name. During phonics we learned about lonely a and the –an word family. We continued to build our stamina when reading to ourselves. In Math, we worked through Chapter 1 practicing many different strategies to help us add.
