is a female recording artist, songwriter & music producer born in Melbourne, Australia. She is a first generation Aus-tralian native with a Hungarian family heritage. Szilva was set on her music career aspirations from an early age when she quickly discovered her natural vocal talent and began writing her own songs and lyrics. Throughout her child-hood, Szilvas’ hunger to pursue a career in music accelerat-ed and led her to attend Monash University where she was accepted to study a Bachelor of Music. Szilva also studied ‘Jazz and Improvisation’ at Box Hill College of Music, After performing live shows throughout Melbourne, including the world famous “Crown Casino,” Szilva experienced her first taste of National radio airplay on FOX FM. Szilva was selected as a winner of the “Nescafe Big Break,” a nation-wide competition that 1000s of talented young Australians compete in annually. Hungry to move forward, Szilva branched off into a solo career, and taught herself music production through a vigorous course of trial and error. Szilva wrote, produced and recorded her first solo album. Szilva then took a leap across the oceans to Los Angeles to pursue her career in music and promote her new record. While abroad, Szilva’s music video for “Own Little World” was broadcasted throughout Australia and New Zealand on National television. Soon after planting her feet in

California, Szilva won the Los Angeles Semi Finals of the Emergenza Music Festival and performed live in Austin.TX at the South by Southwest Music Festival.Szilva has been creating music in the studio with multi-platinum award winning writer/producer Chris Landon. Together they have created a library of songs and have formed the music production company, “222 music”, writing songs of all genres and licensing them to artists, movies, and commercials. Several of their songs have been licensed to videos on Rollingstone.com and Usmagazine.com, as well as several independent feature films. As Szilva puts it, “I think it’s so beautiful to see how music cycles and reinvents itself over time. As an artist, it is my intention to open doors and think outside the box to create my own path in the evolving music industry today.”

CB: 1. Being from Australia with Hungarian family hertiage how did that help your music?SZ: Growing up I was influenced by a variety of music, from heartfelt ballads to hardcore rock and all the in betweens. I al-ways wanted to create my own flavor of music and listening to so many styles of music inspired me to do just that. I recently had the opportunity to write a ballad in Hungarian for Eurovision. Hungarian is my 1st language and writing lyrics in the language was kind of tricky at first but it turned out super sweet :)

“TILL WE MEET AGAIN” -SZILVA

CB: Do you remember the songs you use to write when you were young?SZ: I will always remember the time in my life when I first start-ed writing songs. The more songs I wrote, the more I realized that writing was a such big part of what I wanted to do with my life. When I was little girl, I was a singer but I started writing songs in my early teens, as I felt I like I had more to offer mu-sically. I spent hours in my room teaching myself guitar chords and writing lyrics and melodies. It was my way of expressing myself in my own little world.

CB: Did receiving your degree in music come easy for you since you love music?

SZ: My university education was focused on classical vocal training and it was new to me at the time, as there were a lot of different techniques involved that I wasn’t used to. I think the vocal training gave my voice strength, control, and stability and I often use these vocal methods to warm up before shows. Clas-sical music is very structured and because I was being assessed on perfection to how a song was mean’t to be sung, it was a bit of a challenge for me, as I tend to go off and do my own thing vocally!! LOL J I love to improvise and this has always come nat-urally to me, so when I studied jazz for a while I felt much more at home. At the end of the day, I did learn a lot in college and as they say, - knowledge is power!

CB: How was the experience performing live at the world famous Crown Casino?SZ:Performing at the Crown Casino was definitely a memora-ble experience for me. Crown is the most prestigious casino in the Southern Hemisphere so it was pretty glitzy. My band and I rocked up to the show in a limo and got star treatment, which was fun! There were a ton of people at the show and we rocked out! I definitely hope to perform there again sometime in the near future.

CB:Becoming a winner in the Nescafe Big Break, did that open doors for you.SZ: Because this was a National competition, it grabbed the attention of some heavy hitters, and helped open doors for me to get a management deal. As an artist, the more of credentials, accomplishments, and recognition you have, the more credibility you will have to industry professionals which is a key factor in today’s music biz!

CB:What was the response from fans with your first solo album?SZ:The response to my first solo album was overwhelming... much greater than I ever thought it would be. I connected with people from all parts the world on various social media, and so many international people requested to purchase signed copies of my album from me. It was my first taste of how powerful the Internet and social media was and made me realize that I can connect with people on the other side of the world through the language of music. It was very inspiring and motivating!

CB:What completed the decision for you to move to California for music while your video was broadcasting aboard?SZ: I was ready to take the next step in my career and always felt compelled to come to LA to pursue my music since I was a kid. I have met some amazing people out here and have been present-ed with a stack of opportunities that I would not have had back home, so it was the right thing to do.

CB: Your view on the music industry today?SZ: Some say the music industry is dead, but I like to think of it as an evolving industry. Sure things don’t work the way they traditionally did, but there are a stack of tools that are accessible to us now that we didn’t used to have. It’s not enough to just be a singer or musician any more and any artist looking to make some impact needs to create their own brand and reach out to potential fans and build a following themselves.

CB: How is the experience working with Chris Landon?SZ: Working with Chris has been my most amazing collaborative experience I’ve even had. He is extremely talented and he comes from a pop background, as I am more of a rock head. Together

we have a lot to offer on the song front and we will spend hours on end bouncing ideas off each other. It’s not enough to put two writers in a room and start reeling out hits. There’s a strong ele-ment of chemistry and magic that brings power and flow to this machine and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

CB: What is your advice to young ladies looking to pursue mu-sic?SZ: Be different, throw fear of failure out the window and be a leader! There is a lot of pressure on young girls in the entertain-ment industry and we can tend to have insecurities and can be a little naive so confidence and standing your ground is essential. At the end of the day, it’s not uncommon for young girls to be taken advantage of in this industry. Don’t be scared to make a dent in the Planet ladies! So follow your dreamz and always be true to yourselves! :)

Born Michael Bryan Curry Jr. In Centreville, Illinois. Excited by music due to his parents likeness to motown. He started out on his journey toward music in band class in Jr. High where he met daniel flood (hypeman big sno) and he intro-duced l.A. To drum and bugle corps (new american woodmen). Through many drum line face offs l.A. Met members of the prince hall lancers corp. His closest buddy was Keyon Harrold (of KeyKat productions) keyon helped l.A. Develop a standard of what music really is. Along the way l.A. Was introduced to Dj Lonnie Bee (Derrty Djs) and Dj Oatmeal at the time they ran gangsta mixx records. Although l.A. Never recorded any official songs he managed to rock a couple of blockpartys around e.Saint louis (1993), that plus hearing n.W.A.’S fuck the police made it official l.A. Wanted to rap. Due to his age he couldn’t express himself they way he wanted, but that would be fixed with time. Over the years l.A. Worked on his freestyle (this was the only thing the hood respected had to come off the dome). After making his presence felt around the local mc’s he respected, l.A. Felt like he stood a chance. Through a friend in high school l.A. Ran across sonny metcalf who at the time had a group called bwf. They were on the radio, l.A. Was excited, but at 15 moms wasn’t with it. Frustrated but understanding l.A. Put himself on the back burner once again. The streets became interesting about this time. That didnt go so well for a young dude, but thats life. After living in group homes through dfs. L.A. Finally was old enough to make his own decisions. He started calameno entertainment (2000) bought some basic equipment and got to work. The team consisted of mostly family and friends. Rushed and released a compilation cd (new business vol.1) That they du-plicated themselves with a cd burner(before they were cool) and

sold them right out of the trunk. Calameno gained alot of hood respect because of their subject matter. “We rap about the streets we live in” l.A. Was quoted saying in an interview for a high school news letter at a show. Over all, the grind from then to now has been one hell of a ride ups downs twists and turns. But, through it all calameno still remains. With a roster of artists locked down ( Nova-Caine, Jurico, Yung Papi, Touchdown, Que Ball Pro, Young Cnyy V, and Smurfsta ) l.A. Rebuilt the team with some new faces but always keeping his incarcerated fam relevant. A real humble dude the whole 100 percent. L.A. Has worked with numerous St.Louis and E.St.Louis artists (too many to name without leaving someone out) he has featured on alot of different artists mixtapes nationwide graffiti (oklahoma), Northville Ent. (Ohio), and Da Capitol Gp ( New York) to name a few. Also, l.A. Was blessed in 2008 to be added to a unsigned hype mixtape through miradisc released in france , and released “labeled as the player on Itunes, Napster, Rhapsody, Amazon, and Emusic(2009). To date l.A. Is currently producing a web based mini movie called “The Player Chronicles” , working with artists such as ms.Tigga, Nazz T Nate, Snake Eyes Stl. And exclusively producing tracks for Vanguard Ent and Blazin Hot Studios. And if you were wondering what C.A.L.A.M.E.N.O. Means it stands for “continue as long as money enters (the) nec-essary operations”. “Game night “ coming real soon and “imac2 the mixtape..... #Player

CB: Do u remember the first track you heard that made you love music?LA: Yeah, as far as music goes it was “ parliament funkade-lic – atomic dog” it was real groovy to me. Plus my parents played it all the time. But as far as rap goes it was “N.W.A. – Fu53 the police” that introduced me to reality rap and I found you could be apart of the music industry without being a dancer.

CB: How was the experience to playing in the band?LA: It was good. It was a challenge playing the music live everytime but with my motown influences who I wanted to be like (earth wind & fire, etc.) They played live everytime so I was motivated to do it. My childhood homeboy (hype-man big sno) put me up on it and I didn’t want to let him down either. Plus we traveled and battled other bands for bragging rights. It was a lot of fun. I always said it would make me better for later in the music industry.

CB: When did you know your style was perfected?LA: Truthfully I don’t think my style is perfected yet but, its getting really close. I call my style of production “differ-ent” because I like to try out different sounds to see if I can make it a success. But my flow is perfect I can do that in my sleep. I used to freestyle all the time so writing comes easy.

CB: Did music help you through struggle teens experi-ence?LA: Actually, my love for music got me thru as a teen. 8Ball & MJG and UGK gave me a lot of pointers on how this street life was supposed to go. In St.Louis it’s either get money or be broke, kill or be killed, no in between. But without music I wouldn’t be here right now. Real shit.

CB: You have accomplished many productions and music do you enjoy that more then performing?LA: I’ve produced tracks for Calameno Entertainment / Labhouse Muzik of course, Vanguard Records (St.Louis), Blazin Hot Studios (St.Louis), Da Capitol GP (Harlem) and, the list goes on. But I do enjoy the behind the scenes work in the studio more even though, I’ve never had a bad performance ever. Even when they have never heard of me.

CB: how was the experience starting your own calameno entertainment?LA: It was a lot of work. Mostly trial and, error. I had to do a lot of reading up on how business actually works because, like all the other artists we thought we could just make the music and then blow up. It took a lot of time to realize how much really goes into the entertainment industry. It was a harder task to get everybody on board with all the non-music work we had to do. I lost a lot of good friends and good artists to not wanting to do the work. Sad but, true.

CB: Your thoughts on the new hip hop?LA: I really don’t have negative thoughts like everybody else hip hop is an evolving genre and it stays alive by whats new. My outlook is as long as you show respect to those before you and, above all make money. More power to you. Do your best and, don’t worry about what other people think. Especially, if it’s somebody out there who likes you.

CB: Whats the next big thing for you?LA: The release of my mixtape “imac 2” . My album “game night”, and, the release of my movie “The Player Chron-icles” featuring a list of St.Louis artists and street niggas. That’s my 2013 contribution. You’re welcome in advance #player also thanx for the interview and shouts out to theunsignedartist.com and DJ Yel #1luv ya’ll

Brittany is a young and energetic pop and hip hop music performer. She just recently completed a high school tour performing at 18 highschools across the country for more than 50,000 students. Brittany also performed at “The Sail Fest” in Connecticut last summer, after doing the night club circuit in Los Angeles. She is currently slated to perform 3 shows at the New England Six Flags in June.Brittany was fortunate to enjoy the urban culture and independence that growing up in NYC allows for without giving in to the negative influences that often go a long with teenage city life. Brittany was encouraged by her mother to translate her experiences into lyrics and she gave her Log-ic Pro for her 15th birthday. Soon after, Brittany began working with her first musical influence, Tony Donelson (AKA Carlos Bling) and recorded a demo. Once completed,Brittany’s mother took the demo to Los Angeles where it quickly garnered inter-est from music industry

heavy weights. It was then that she teamed up with award winning hip hop writer Earl Hayes, who was at the time signed by Interscope records through Dr Dre and Timberland with a catalog that features Puff Daddy, Gucci Mane, Limp Bizcuit, Keri Hilson, Usher, Lil Jon, and many more. Very quickly, Hayes realized the raw talent and powerful story of her life, and they began an on-going collaboration that produced Brittany’ s song, “ Your the Type of Guy.” She has also collaborated with Young Money artist Lil Twist, Mickey Avalon, mega producers 1500 or Nothing, Black Eyed Peas Producer “Sleep Deez” and multiplatinum producer/engineer Earl Cohen who is most notable for Lady Gaga’s FAME album. Brittany continues to write and record and looks forward to putting out more tracks in the very near future. Her music has been classified as elctro- hip hop. Brittany credits Lil Kim, BrittanySpears, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Shania Twain as some of her

musical influences

O.Liver TwistThe Pickpocket

THE PUBLISIST’S VERSION

O.Liver is often angry.Reason 1. Too many emcees.

Reason 2. Too many punch lines.

So he goes hard at it everyday -- utilizing his craft, turning up his talent --so nobody gets it confused. He picks a figurative pocket or two, to take what he wants when he wants it. And he makes sure to not get caught up in the current menagerie of “rappers” – specifically the one that talk a lot of loud, but ain’t saying nothing. Emerging from the hard knock life that is Brooklyn, NY, O.Liver Twist broke into the hip-hop scene with the debut of his freshman album, Guinness & Cheesecake [GNC]. Allowing us entry into life as he saw it, GNC told the story of young O.Liver … navigating through his own, authentic Crown Heights experience. And then there is ‘THE HEIST’ - O.Liver’s latest album an avant-garde re-cord packed withhyped-up club bangers, bass heavy slow joints, and even a little Rock&Roll Now a pro

to the game, the Pickpocket has clocked years of live performances, studio hours, album releases and, mixtapes. O.Liver Twist’s latest single, ‘#GETYAM-INDRIGHT (Get Ya Mind Right), merges O.Liver’s hard-hitting flow and spectacular lyricism with the crunked out rhythms of one of the nation’s top beatmakers. So there’s no confusing O.Liver Twist. O.Liver Twist is not just an emcee.O.Liver is a Composer, a Wordsmith, a true Artist.Nothing, really, to be angry about. (“Get Ya Mind Right” by O.Liver Twist now available on iTunes.)

O.LIVER TWIST

CB: What was the breaking deci-sion to start music?OT: Music was always in me. It was what I knew growing up in the streets of brooklyn so the decision was already made for me, it was destiny. CB: You have made many major accomplishment, what’s behind the driving force?OT:My driving force is my family, hands down. It’s that simple. CB:When did you know your style was perfected?OT: It’s never really perfected. I strive for perfection each time I create something new. CB: Have you ever had mo-ment when you need to step back from your craft?OT: Never. I’ve had a moment when I’ve have to step back from other things – for my craft. CB: Your thoughts on today’s hip hop?OT: Today’s hip-hop is manufac-tured. It’s robotic. It’s like people are creating monsters and not in a good way. For instance, an artist is developed or “built” in a record label. They give him image, they give him concepts, they give him words, they give him beats, they give him style, they give him pro-duction. He has no creative say so

in the process. He’s manufactured. He’s a robot. That’s basically all the music that’s on the radio right now. People don’t speak from their heart no more, they don’t say how they feel. People are afraid to jump out

of the box. It’s too much trappin going on and not enough rappin. CB: How are you trying to change society views on hip hop?OT: I want “society” to know it’s okay to be yourself. It’s okay to be different. Be you … because every-body else is taken. CB:How was the experience with your new single?OT: It was a great experience, just

like every song I ever released. It’s like sending your kid to school on the first day. You have that anxiety but yet there’s an excitement at the same time. The single (#getyam-indright) was well received so you

know that’s always a positive motivator. CB:Do you prefer perform-ing with a live band over just a Dj?OT: I prefer neither. They both are different. When I’m performing I like to have a dj. When I’m recording I like to have a band. But it all de-pends. It depends on the au-dience. In some spots a band might work best to express my message. In others, like a hip-hop club, a DJ would get my message across different or better. And it depends on the venue. Some venues aren’t set up for bands and some venues aren’t setup for djs.

CB: Whats your next accomplish-ment in 2013? OT: Releasing my album (the blok records presents … O.L.I.V.E.R.) And releasing the video to the single that just came out (#getyam-indright). CB: Your advice to young artists?OT: Get ya mind right.

Anton Brown DJ “Anton”(The Elite) can best be described as confident, smart, inventive, creative, and hard working when it comes to the art of remixing. He has positioned himself as one of the most promising Afri-can-American Hip-Hop jocks representing the Chicago urban scene. As a native of Chicago, DJ Anton quickly became aware of the many opportunities available to him in Chicago. Anton is one of many up and coming DJ’s waiting to be unleashed on the world. Anton feels as if he was born with a needle in his hand. Anton’s decision to venture into the DJ mix world was actually a suggestion from a close friend DJ Corey, who saw his potential. From his first assignment, which happened to be with Chi-One’ s Entertainment in 1998, he realized the opportunities were absolutely endless. His hard work and winning persona have landed him gigs at some of the most progressive Chicago club venues: Side Car Cafe, The Biology Bar, Cafe Allure, The Prop House, Intas, Aqua, Voyeur, Chromium, Lan’s Sushi and Lobster Bar, The Hidden Lounge,Capiche, Club Reunion, The Shad-ow Bar, Rumba, The Presidential Towers, The Congress Hotel, What’s Lounge and Marysols. He has worked along side the promoters Chi-One’s Entertainment Dunn Ruff Entertainment, First Fridays Danielle Carr, Xtreme Ent, Two Fingers Ent., Maximillon Ent., Pro-Style, Big Figga, Big-Up Ent.,The Rails Marketing Group and worked with producers of the Ruff Ryder’s and WuTang album release parties and The Black Women’s Expo after party. He also was one of the top five Dj’s to be selected to participate in WGCI’s DJ contest, which was hosted by Ramon ski Love. Anton feels the entertainment business has helped him to be very grounded in his personal beliefs and the reality of his goals. At this point Anton believes nothing can deter him from pur-suing his dreams and endeavors. Mixing is in his blood. He is also a Power 92.3 mixshow dj. Featured every Monday night & every major hoilday.

CB:.When did you fell in love with music?SS: I first fell in love with music when my Aunt bought me my first boombox from a yard sale lol. I think I was 6 or 7. I started singing everything I heard on the radio. I recorded all the music I could and learned all the lyrics. I was called “radio” as a kid because there wasn’t a song that came on the radio at the time, that I didn’t know lol.

CB: How was your experience performing in Europe?SS: My experience in Europe was fantabulous! I can’t wait to go back to perform again. The people are so embracing and kind. The food was awesome too! The Braahfields were so accommodating and inviting in every way. I loved it.

CB: Singing with so much power whats your secret to keeping your voice on point?SS: There’s no secret to keeping my voice on point honest-ly. It’s all God. Point, blank AND the period. He anointed my voice for this and I’m grateful each and every day to use it to bless people.

CB:How do you feel about the tast in some R&B today?ISS: t’s not what it once was but I have no doubt that it will be profound once again. Artists like Fantasia, Chri-sette Michelle, Alicia Keys, Monica, Mary J. Blige and etc. are keeping it alive. The success of the reality show R&B Divas gives me GREAT excitement for R&B. R&B IS NOT DEAD. Just wait for it.

CB: Working in the studio for the first time how was that experience for you?SS: Lol! I absoulutely HATED my first time in the studio! Thanks to fellow artist/producer Killah Trakz I can record an entire song in under an hour. That’s how much I don’t like being in the booth for hours and hours. The first time I was recording a hook it took me 2 hours and it was hot! I told myself, never again and it hasn’t happened since lol.

CB: Who are some of the producers you working with for the upcoming album?SS: Some of the producers I’m working with now are Jimmy Dade, Dj Self Born, Josh Lebang, Nacho Typical, Da Haitian Kidd and more. I have a specific sound that I’m looking for and they are amongst the few that give me what I want.

CB: Your collection of music is very eclectic do they play a part in your music sound?SS: Thank you. I never heard that before but I don’t think I have one specific sound. I hone in the feeling I want to leave the listener with. Sometimes that feeling can be con-temporary, soul, hip hop or just plain old R&B. Regardless of the sound I try to remain to true to the R&B craft.

CB: Do some of your music go back to your church roots?SS: Most definitely. I believe singing in church prepares you for the major stage. Because there is nothing more difficult in the world than to try to move church people to praise the Lord. Especially when they don’t feel like it. If you can master that as a singer/musician, you’re way ahead of the game.

CB: Whats your plans for 2013?SS: 2013, hmmm so much going on! I am preparing to record a whole new album with more personal real life stories. I am ready to pour out the hidden parts of my soul on this next project and I’m so excited! There is soooo much much in store for 2013! I will be releasing the remix video of “What Do I Do” ft. Jimmy Dade very soon! You’ve gotta stay tuned!

CEO, Marcel Simmons, Raw Dogg Recordz has risen to prominence in the Chicago area as the premier indie record label to be affiliated with. A collaboration of artists, who emcee, produce, sing, distribute and promote their own brand of street hip hop. Marcel; born and raised in the Windy City, states that he and his closest kin were groomed to be in the music industry from early on. His father was a guitarist for the Staples and the Chi-Lites while he taught Marcel pronun-ciation and how to project his vocal quality. Marcel then took this knowledge and shared it with the members of what would become Raw Dogg Recordz in 2004. Raw Dogg Recordz was formed with a vision of staying independent, but also working together with a major record label for the purposes of distribution worldwide. Mr. Simmons had a friend by the name of P the Raw Dogg and took a liking to his friend’s name. Individual recognition didn’t progress the way Marcel saw fit, After changing his name from Spyder Box to Spyder Raw, Marcel seized the opportunity to form a group, hence the creation of Raw Dogg Recordz. Soon after, they’d win the “2010 Best New Artist” at the Chicago Hip Hop Awardsand “2010 Best New Mix Tape” at Chicago’s annual Rapper’s Ball.. Raw Dogg Recordz is comprised of 6 members who have recorded 3 albums entitled, “Land of the Raw” and “On Raw Grounds, Volumes 1 & 2”. Track production withdefinite commercial and hardened street appeal is handled primarily by Marcel, his brother Sean Nitty and Zach “Dirty Redd” Ball. As a conglomerate of soulful artists with a slick verbal appeal, Raw Dogg Recordz has edged its place solidin stone amongst Chicago’s diverse music scene. Marcel has recently been in contact with IMG/Universal Music Group in an effort to increase name recognition globally, starting off with distributing Raw Dogg Recordz hottest new music to the deejay circuit in the Gulf Coast region. Positive feedback and consistent spins is a reachable ambition for Marcel’s tandem of talent, but is only the beginning.
