What do I want from an unsigned band?

•Someone based in Norwich, this will make contact and meetings easier for both parties, less time having to organise meetings and more time discussing the video.

•Reliability, a band that are able to give a considerable amount of effort to the project and dedicate as much time as necessary.

•Identity, a band with a really cohesive idea of who they are as artists (e.g.. Genre, style) that can be shown in this video.

•Ideas, for me the music promo project will be a combination of ideas from both myself and the band, I personally find total creative freedom frustrating and prefer loose guidelines to stick by. This project will be a representation of the band, they need to have ideas of how they want to be represented.

•Authenticity, I want a band that have high quality recordings, an authentic sound that isn’t just an album of Green Day covers, originality and don’t necessarily sound like an unsigned band.

•Experience, a band that possibly may have had videos available, making it able to seewhat their style is and what kind of videos they find inspirational.

After this research, I decided that I would instead use a copyright free track, it givesme more creative freedom and I won’t have to worry about timing, scheduling etc.

This is the track I will be using, it’s the appropriate length, and I think that my musicvideo ideas will really fit in with this track, it’s an instrumental piece and I think thatit will help the surrealistic elements of my music video stand out.
