I choose the best and brightest thoughts to guide my path and enrich my life. All is well. 3
Hello Friends, I heard the phrase “treat, and move your feet” repeatedly during the past month. It put me in mind of another new minister covenant affirmation, “I am effectively applying Spiritual Principles and vision to meet community, organizational, and personal re-sponsibilities.” This month, I’d like to explore that affirmation.
We know that Science of Mind teaches that what we put our intention and energy to is what we demonstrate in our lives. But setting an intention, in and of itself, is not
enough; to manifest that intention also requires action. As Ernest Holmes explains,
“A treatment is an active thing. When one gives a treatment, he is not sitting around, hoping that something may happen. He is definitely, constructively, actively stating, sens-ing, knowing some specific good … A passive meditation will never produce an active demonstration, any more than an artist can paint a picture by sitting down with his paints and never using them.” (50th anniversary edition, pp. 47-48)
Applying Spiritual Principles involves mind and body. Through spiritual mind treatment, we open our-selves to creatively expressing a higher and greater good for ourselves. We don’t have to know how that greater good will come about; we simply have to believe it already is so (treat), and be willing to do our part to manifest it here and now (move our feet).
Meeting “community, organizational, and personal responsibilities” comes down to one thing: living with integrity, in oneness with the God who is with us, in us, and connects us to one another. The things we feel called to do for our communities, organizations, and ourselves are unique expressions of God through us. What tasks do you see that need to be done? What dreams do you have that make your heart sing? These are indications of your Divine Purpose.
“Treat, and move your feet” summarizes this practice. When we treat for something, we open ourselves to a higher good and create a world that works for all. This is how changing our thinking changes our lives!
Blessings, Linda Weston

I am open and welcoming to God’s grace filling my life and prospering my affairs. 4
“We can no more do without spirituality than we can do without food, shel-ter, or clothing.” Ernest Holmes “It takes a village.” Hillary Clinton There was a new pilot tv show on the other night entitled Village. As I watched it I was inspired by the show to say thanks to all of you who play
such an incredible part in United Life Spiritual Center’s village. This is my 13th consecutive year here and most of the time everything functions perfectly. I love being part of this village.
Now more and more members of the choir not only come together to make a sweet sound as one voice but so many are stepping out as soloists, bringing in new songs. As the band and choir come together we begin to create our own sound. How wonderful it is that so many bring in a new refreshing feel to the music. Each one different, but each one part of the whole, making this village ring out with joy. Included is this quote from Ernest Holmes because I know that once we are touched by this spir-itual experience we can no longer live without it. This becomes our village, a place where we can love God and one another; talk about how we relate open and honestly. A village where we get to be the greatness God intended for us to experience. I would have taken the time to thank every-one that makes it work, however, I do not have a two page article and it would take at least that. So let me just end by saying thank you to all for being a part of this village.
LoV,
SuZ

The Centers for Spiritual Living national office has designated “Spirituality in Action” as the theme for 2019 with the book Beyond Religion by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, to correspond with the February theme “Seek the Common Good – Oneness”.
His Holiness was raised to be a spiritual leader and as such he has traveled the world and seen the changes that have occurred over his lifetime, many of which appear detrimental to the planet and to the occupants of our planet. In his book he shared his observation that at every level we are giv-ing too much attention to the external, material aspects of life while neglecting moral ethics and inner values. He suggests that much of what we find unpleasant in the world today is caused by a focus on the material and neglecting the inner value of compassion. His idea for the development of morality for the people is secular ethics, a way of thinking about spirituality and ethics that is beyond religion. It is the idea of living ethically and in harmony with others, with a deeper sense of well-being in a way independent of any specific religious or cultural perspective.
His experience has shown His Holiness that we have an underlying human disposition toward love, kindness, and affection which, when cultivated, leads us to living spiritually. He sees the ba-sics of secular ethics as the recognition of our shared humanity, our shared aspiration to happiness and the understanding of interdependence as a key feature of human reality.
After years of his own practice of compassion His Holiness has observed that it reduces fear and distrust. It also creates a space in our heart and mind that is calm and settled that makes it easier for us to exercise discernment and intelligence. As a result, our interactions with others can be more loving and kind which leads to better relationships. His Holiness has included methods for us to overcome habits that are not beneficial to us and to develop those that can help us to live more fulfilling lives and make changes in the world. With the Centers for Spiritual Living’s goals for a world that works for everyone, the Dalai Lama’s suggestions are in alignment with that goal. His entire book is well worth reading and is available at the Metropolitan Library.

Steve Sisco Center Librarian
Sisco Says
Dr. Raymond Holliwell (1900-1986) had a highly logical mind and was an inspired teacher who employed a clear, specific approach to this subject. For these reasons, Working With The Law is an excellent resource for group study.
Science has defined a variety of natural laws that ex-plain the physical world and how it changes. One such law states that for every action there is a reaction, and that for every motion there is corresponding counter-motion. Whether it is visible to the human eye or not, one thing is certain: movement and change will occur as a result. Having studied these principles, author Raymond Holliwell not only understood the universal physical applications, he also understood the spiritual and mental applications as well.
Working With The Law. Copyright 1964 by Dr Raymond Holli-well, DeVorss Publications, Camarillo, California. Revised 2004.
Dirty Fingernails
I find that each day I must get dirt under my fingernails.
I must caress leaves, touch roots, compliment flowers and cheer on good plant sex. I have a touch with my brush, you know.
It is all metaphysical, this transcendence of just a person and plant, or animal. There is a quantum language animals speak, humans speak it as well and so do plants. When we work together, we humans, plants and animals, when you hold a plant in your hands, its naked roots touching your skin, you are one, together, there is a symbiosis taking place, auras are mixing, personal magnetic fields aligning one with the other, you hold a kitten, puppy, child in your hands and you love it, and they love you. That is a divine moment, and is it little wonder I keep going to my greenhouse to get my hands dirty.
Stephen G Sisco; 3-5-2019 16:35
By using this law on a spiritual and mental level, Holli-well found that a specific thought could create a de-sired reaction in his personal and professional life through continual and dedicated practice. As he came to realize the expanded potential of this powerful law, he eventually recognized the ultimate source of the dramatic results: God.
There are countless laws that impact on our daily lives and actions. But there are other laws just waiting to be discovered and put to work from within; laws that any-one can use to live a limitless and prosperous life. After many printings, the lessons in Working With The Law are still being taught in numerous workshops around the country, and continue to provide the reader with a new opportunity to take action and re-think their strat-egy for success by simply working with the law.
Stephen G Sisco
I embrace the silence and peace of my soul and release everything else. 6

United Life Sacred New Minister Covenant
There is only one Life! • This Life is good! This Life is God! • This Life is my Life now!
GOD IS THE WHOLENESS THAT I AM.*
For it is written: “Wholeness remains the same no matter how much it changes.” **
As I stand in agreement with my beloved Community, I see my new minister revealed before me as: GUIDING UNITED LIFE TO GROW IN LOVE AND JOY.
I now intend to experience my new minister in full cooperation and agreement with my Community, knowing this truth about myself, for:
I am inspiring all to live life as Love. I am creatively awakening the wisdom in myself and demonstrating Spiritual Principles. I am applying the healing power of Love to reveal wholeness and perfection. I am effectively applying Spiritual Principles and vision to meet community, organizational, and
personal responsibilities. I am creating an atmosphere that manifests abundance, prosperity, and gratitude.
As I now accept the highest expression of a new minister in my life, I know that they will be revealed in a way that will glorify God and serve the highest and greatest good of all who are touched by their presence.
I am grateful God is gracious! So be it now!
*Purpose **quote: Deepak Chopra
CHURCH LIBRARY
We received a largesse of books this year, for which we need more library shelves.
Buy some wood and we will build them. Buy shelves, assembly required, and we will assemble. Has a neighbor put some by the curb? We will go get them.
Do you know of a library upgrading their shelves? We will take their old shelves. Or, endow us with the funds, and we will select from a catalog.
Please contact United Life at (405) 945-6753; [email protected]
Feel free to speak with Stephen Sisco or any Leadership Council member.
Thank you! We welcome any assistance in our continuing efforts to improve the extensive library at United Life.
Stop by and take a look: this is YOUR resource center.
