COLIN JAMES HEARTS OF FIRE

Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame inductee Colin James will release his 16th

studio album, Hearts On Fire

Hearts On Firewas co-produced by Colin James and long-time collaborator Colin Linden (ABCs Nashville). The album was recorded at

House of Blues in Nashville, TN and Magic Ten Studios in Vancouver, BC.

The lead single, Just a Little Love features a stellar line-up of musicians that includes; George Receli (drums and percussion), Willie

Weeks (bass), Reese Wynan (keyboards), Colin Linden (guitar) and Ann & Regina McCrary (backup vocals).

Making this record with my good friend Colin Linden with such a fantastic veteran rhythm section was an amazing experience, Colin

recounts. The majority of the recording was done in Nashville during a stretch of warm spring weather so every time I hear the songs

feel like Im right back in The South. I hope my fans enjoy listening to this record as much as we all enjoyed making it.

Colin James has won six Juno Awards including Male Vocalist of the Year and the Best Producer award for his efforts with The Little

Big Band. He is the recipient of 17 Maple Blues Awards having most recently been honored in 2013 with Entertainer of the Year.

In conjunction with the release of the album, Colin will also embark on his first cross Canada tour since 2012. The 21 date cross Canada

Tour will start Feb 27 in Nova Scotia and will run through March 30 and will include stops is all major and secondary cities including a st

at Massey Hall in Toronto! Colin will then continue to support Hears Of Fire throughout the summer and fall with dates already

announced at the Montreal jazz Festival and others

National advertising campaigns and promotions will support the release including a Canadian Road Trip promotion with fellow artists

The latest album that we've recorded, "Hidden in Plain Sight" has certainly been a labor of love. "Recipe switching, I'm the

chef in the kitchen" is a perfect line from the opening track, "Keep the Customer Satisfied" to describe the goals and

achievements of the recording. Musical sounds are just like food or colors where a chef or painter has a chance to mix

elements that have never been mixed and create something new.

With this project we combine a Classical style (17th Century) with an Urban Pop edge (21st Century) as if they were alwaymeant to be! "Rhapsody of the Queen" is another example of us once again taking vocals where few bands have ever take

them before.

A key moment in the project is the track "Galileo" (featuring Queen) where we take some notes from the legendary rock

band who in one song alone seem to defy staying in any one genre ("Bohemian Rhapsody") Here we combine all of the

world famous operatics of one of the most recognized songs in the world, sampling phrases like: "Galileo, Galileo",

"Scaramouche, scaramouche" and "Thunderbolt and lightning -- very, very frightening" with N7's special brand over Vocal

Play.

Other key tracks which we call HYBRIDS (original lyrics over known music) are: "Life Goes On" (contains an interpolation ofWham's "Everything She Wants"), "Moments in Love" (Art of Noise) and "Mahalia" (actually sampling Mahalia Jackson

singing "Troubles of the World"). The majority of the project is still original material, but there's one cover song, "Fix You"

(Coldplay). Added last to this cutting edge line up, it has become a true stand out track and an audience favorite in our live

shows. We expect that this album will be loved by both new comers and long time N7 fans alike.

The Complete Stax/Volt Soul Singles, Vol. 3: 1972-1975.The third and final chapter of thedefinitive collection of the great Memphis soul label Stax focuses on the early-mid 1970s; a time when the label was

enjoying remarkable chart successes, yet was on the verge of its dramatic denouement. Vol. 3 contains all soul singles issued by Stax/Volt during thos

years and includes some of the biggest and best-loved hits of the day as well as a number of little-known gems by both major and less familiar artists.

Originally released in 1994, this compilation will be re-released back into the physical market in compact and sleek new packaging.

The story of the great Memphis soul label Stax/Volt can be divided into two distinct eras: the period from 1959 through the beginning of 1968, when company was distributed by Atlantic and was developing its influential sound and image (chronicled in acclaimed 9-CD box set The Complete Stax/Vol

Singles 1959-1968, released by Atlantic in 1991); and the post-Atlantic years, from May 1968 through the end of 1975, when Stax/Volt began its

transition from a small, down-home enterprise to a corporate soul powerhouse.

Available in January, The 9-Disc Vol. 2 set focused on this period, 1968 through 1971, when Stax/Volt was forging ahead as its own entity. The 216-son

collection includes all of the singles issued by the label during this time period, and features some of the biggest and best-loved hits of the day, includ

Isaac Hayes Theme From Shaft, The Staple Singers Respect Yourself and Johnnie Taylors Whos Making Love, as well as a number of little-know

gems by both major and less-familiar artists.

This edition, The Complete Stax/Volt Soul Singles, Vol. 3: 1972-1975, covers this era of success and excess, when Staxs stars were shining bright, but t

label was on the verge of its dramatic denouement. The 10-disc box set contains all 213 soul singles issued by Stax/Volt during this time, including suc

hits as Shirley Browns Woman to Woman and the Staple Singers Ill Take You There.

In 1976, faced with involuntary bankruptcy and an unsuccessful distribution deal with CBS Records, Stax was forced to close its doors. In his liner notefor Vol. 3, compilation co-producer Bill Belmont writes, Staxs difficult and inglorious end in no way diminishes its vital contributions to rhythm and

blues and soul. Today, the music of Stax maintains a strong and steady presence, heard continually in cover versions by major artists, in movies and o

television. Simply put, the Memphis Sound lives. And indeed it does.

With a revival of the label in recent years, through Fantasy Records, the 2003 opening of the Stax Museum of American Soul Music in Memphis, Tenn

as well as several developing theatrical performances around the label, the music of Stax will continue to influence generations of musicians and fans

alike.

Project overview: Drawing on a wide range of musical influences from the past and present, Jonny Faith has crafted his ow

individual sound overflowing with intricate percussion and lush, organic tones.

Originating from Edinburgh, but now based in Melbourne, Faith gained his ear for rhythm and sound as a DJ and turntablis

spinning hip hop, jungle and D&B, both in the UK and Australia, for some years. After a while, like many DJs, he turned his

hand to his own productions and sound. Faiths early music had a strong dub and reggae tinge, with one early single releas

coming under the alias Dropwise Dubs through the Sydney based Foreign Dub imprint. Although dub sensibilities and

production techniques still underpin Faiths style he moved into the hip hop future beats scene with aplomb hosting both

include catchy and melodic songs with commercial radio hit potential. Musical influences come mostly from Meat Loaf a

Queen with the ghost of Alice Cooper thrown in plus some Classic and more contemporary Hard Rock elements. Lyrics

not limited to the old days of Bram Stokers era and could easily be a Dracula story of today.

year was 1978 and the location was at the Oakland Coliseum, where roughly 55,000 fans were attending for

unforgettable day that saw the newly formed Pat Travers Band playing with AC/DC, Van Halen, Foreigner, and Aerosmi

The band had spent much of the year on a tour that would be documented in 1979 as Live! Go for What You Know

arguably his best and certainly one of the most acclaimed Hard Rock Live albums of all time.

Toronto-born Pat Travers, is truly a swaggering hard-rock axeman. He picked up the guitar after seeing a Jimi Hend

performance in Ottawa. His debut album was released in 1976, and while his most successful releases like "Makin Mag

and "Crash And Burn" are now more than 30 years old, he never consigned himself to the nostalgia circuit.

In 2012, Pat Travers Band made a comeback with a new lineup - which saw the return of drummer Sandy Gennaro beh

the skins - and a new record Can Do, released the following year. A great release which saw Travers and his band play

better than ever! In the tour that lead up to the release of that album, he picked the right venue for this celebration of a n

live CD, "Live at the Iridium NYC".

Pat says: The two shows that we played at the Iridium Club in February 2012 marked the first time I ever really felt tota

comfortable and at home in The Big Apple. The people at the Iridium just made us feel like we were honorary N

Yorkers. It was awesome. Having done an extensive European tour at the end of 2011, a Caribbean Cruise Ship gig an

bunch of concerts at the beginning of the year the band was on fire. So being able to record a set at the Iridium in New Yo

City was the perfect venue and time to capture the PTB at their smoking best. We were fortunate to have Jon Paris join us

Blues Harp for two classic tunes and he just tore it up and showed us all how the Blues is really done.

Presenting all the highlights of his career and combining the individual talents with the chemistry of being on the stage, y

can feel an energy that is tangible on this recording, an enjoyment that is infectious, and, quite frankly, you owe it

yourself to catch this band whenever and wherever you can.

Its an incredible combination of classic 70s and 80s, tells Michael Sweet. You will hear some flavors of Journey, Bad

Company, Dokken, Van Halen and Stryper. James and Brian are amazing musicians. They tore it up. The drums and bass ar

just as impressive as the guitars. Everybody really delivered... The musicianship level on this is top notch. It sounds as if wewere all in the studio playing together and we were not. Basically, George wrote some riffs about a minute to a minute an

half long. I wrote lyrics and melodies then arranged them. Then Brian and James came out and tracked the drums and bas

as well as some rhythm stuff. We then sent it back to George to add the guitars."

The combination of Sweets powerful, crystal clear vocals and Lynchs unmatched guitar tone, provide the force and drive

that the album needed. The result is truly a state of the art Hard Rock album, with fabulous melodies played to perfectio

Ron Hawkins has long been revered as one of Canada's greatest contemporary singer-songwriters. As lead

singer/multi-instrumentalist and main songwriter of Canada's legendary Lowest of the Low, Ron and the group we

The High Dialsare a Montreal-based band with a revolving line-up centered around founders Trevor Anderson (singer-songwriter) and Robbie MacArthur (guitars). Their music is shaded with psychedelic, electronic and folk rock influences butfirmly rooted in a timeless pop approach and sensibility.

The band has a deep back catalogue and extensive tour history, including recent dates in the UK and Ireland. Their releaseshave won praise from the NME, Spinand Washington Postamong others. In 2013, they returned from a lengthy performinhiatus in which they composed two soundtracks, collaborated with legendary Rolling Stones producerAndrew Loog Oldhaand completed new studio work.

Working on soundtracks for two Montreal indie films had led to a lot of experimentation, but any long-term band can slip intocomfort zone of lazy habits. Thats where producer Marc Bell(We Are Wolves, The Fugees) came into things.MeetingMarc was huge because he really helped us stay fearless in moving forward. He knew nothing about our history. We wereable to incorporate more of the influences that had always been there lurking but never really come through.

The resulting work is surprising yet logical for those familiar with the band. While the trademark jangling guitars, harmoniesand melodic sensibilities remain, In The AM Wildssees the band exploring groove-based pop with palpable excitement andfreedom.

As expected from a High Dials album, there is also a concept at play. The songs were written as I was working as a DJ andcompletely immersed in Montreal nightlife. That probably explains some of the groovier sounds and clubbing vibe, as well asthe subject matter,says Anderson. But this is obviously not a party record. Its about the visions and dreams that come toyou in that state of mind, and that means everything from ecstasy to anxiety, yearnings of the highest and lowest form. Thenight appears as a wilderness, a world people get lost in for better or worse. In the dark things appear and your mindwanders... And sometimes its hard to find your way home.
