Benefits to Applying to UC Schools
● The Blue & Gold Opportunity Plan: You will not have to pay UC’s systemwide tuition and fees out of your own pocket if you are a California resident whose total family income is less than $80,000 a year and you qualify for financial aid
● Nearly a third of UC undergrad students come from Community Colleges ● Most transfer students pay no tuition ● UC Transfer students graduate at high rates ● 2 out of 3 transfer students who apply to UC get in
What are UC’s looking for?
Primary Factor: Academics
● GPA in transferable courses ● Completion of a specific pattern or number of courses that provide continuity
with upper division courses in student’s major● Participation in academically selective honors courses and/or programs
Academics cont’dRequirements:
● 60 transferable units● Minimum of 2.4 GPA in UC transferable courses ● Completion of 7-course pattern
○ 2 English Composition ○ 1 Mathematical Concept & Quantitative Reasoning ○ 4 Courses within Arts & Humanities, Social & Behavioral Sciences, Physical & Biological
Sciences ○ Grades of “C” or better; Passing grade acceptable if equivalent to “C” grade (each course must be 3
semester units/4 quarter units● Course pattern must be completed by end the Spring term prior to fall admission
Secondary Factors ● Special talents, achievements, awards; special skills; leadership; community service;
student government; demonstrated promise for contributing to intellectual vitality ● Completion of special projects in the context of your college curriculum or activities ● Academic accomplishments in light of your life experiences and special circumstances
(i.e. first-generation college student, low-income, etc.)● Location of the college and your residence ● Completion of AA-T or AS-T (please note: this is not required)● Personal Insight Questions (PIQ’s)

UC Transfer Admission Planner (UC TAP)
UC TAP is an online tool that helps guide you as you prepare for transfer to a UC campus. Using TAG you can:
● Track your progress toward meeting admission requirements, the tool calculates CCC transferable units and UC transferable GPA
● Receive important notifications about events and resources directly from UC

Input Coursework
● Use transcripts to input coursework● List ALL colleges attended● Input ALL classes in chronological
order, include:○ non-transferable & transferable
courses○ substandard grades○ courses in progress/planned

Six UC campuses offer GUARANTEED admission to students who meet specific requirements
