Google Play Account• Each teacher should have a Google account. This

requires a Gmail address and password.

• Do not register a credit card unless you are planning to purchase apps on your UBI tablet.

• If you already have an account, you may want to consider making a new (school only) account.

Assigning Tablets

• Generate numeric lists.

• Each student on a class roster will be assigned a specific tablet number.

numbers.

Assigning Earphones• Write the tablet numbers on the bag that

the earphones come in . • Then apply a strip of tape over the number

to prevent it from wearing off.

Designate Helpers• Assign trusted students to

distribute and collect tablets.

• Tablets only need to be charged at the end of the day.

APPS on TABLETS• Each cart has a number.

• That number is used to designate which apps are pushed out to tablets.

• Have one person designated as “App Leader”(This person will email UBI technicians about which apps to push out on which carts.) • Create a cart owner list.

How to Install Apps on Tablets

• After contacting UBI, your apps will appear on your class set of tablets within 24 hours. You will then follow the steps below:

• Systems Manager

• Swipe left to “Backpack”

• Click the app once to begin downloading.

I recommend only downloading 3 apps at a time on 5 tablets at a time. This will speed up the process.Developed by Randy Backman

How to Install Apps on Tablets

• Once a download is complete, click the app again. You will them be prompted to install. Click Install.

• If you click an already installed app you will get the following prompt..

Wi-Fi Pointers!• The new Access Points will be

named “Public” just as if you were using the Wi-Fi from the hallway. The difference is that YOUR Wi-Fi in the room will be on a different channel.

Wi-Fi Pointers!• To utilize your room’s Wi-Fi access points, go

to Wi-Fi manager and disconnect your Wi-Fi.

• Then go back into Wi-Fi manager and reconnect. This should connect the tablets to the closest possible connection.

Trouble ShootingWhat if a student cannot log out of a program? (MSTAR)

• Go into BROWSER• Then Settings (3 vertical dots) • Privacy and security• Uncheck remember passwords• Clear cache, history and clear

Rules • Although it is a campus decision, here are a

few rules that have worked well for us…..

1. No food or drink in the new tablet labs!2. Never go into the tablet cart without

permission!3. Never get up with the tablet!4. If you are leaving the room and plan to

return, close the tablet and leave it on your desk!

edmodo!• Assign a problem to your class via

PowerPoint.• The students work the problem on

Chalkboard Lite.• They then share the chalkboard file to

edmodo. It will be saved in the student’s back pack.

• When they click turn in.. They attach the file from their backpack!

Tech Lessons!!• QR scanner problems can be easily created

on qrstuff.com.• Students use their tablet to scan the

problems. I make them scavenger hunt type problems where the answer to each problem can be found at the top of another code.

• Once finished, they submit their answers to edmodo.

(You will need to create the assignment in edmodo)
