automatic source-changeover systems
Masterpact source-changeover systems canbe used to implement various configurationsinvolving several incoming feeders. The twoor three Masterpact circuit breakers orswitch-disconnectors used are mechanicallyinterlocked to prevent certain combinationsof operations.All types of Masterpact devices may be fitted(fixed and drawout versions, three-pole andfour-pole, different ratings).The devices may be arranged:c vertically, i.e. stack-mounted andinterconnected by a set of rods;c horizontally (two only), i.e. side-by-sideand interconnected by a set of cables.An electrical interlock must be used whenthe source changeover is part of anautomatic system.

The electrical interlocking system andautomatic control system for multiplesources must be wired by the user. It mustbe used in conjunction with the mechanicalinterlocking system.Typical wiring configurations are availableon request. See examples below. For otherconfigurations, consult us.
Necessary auxiliaries and accessoriesTo implement the configurations below, eachMasterpact circuit breaker must be equippedwith:
c a motor mechanism (MCH);c a shunt release (MX);c a "ready to close" contact (PF);c a block of 4 changeover switches (OF);c an additional terminal block (BS) and ablock of 4 "connected" position switches(CE) for changeover systems includingdrawout breakers.
Option with "lockout after fault"With this option, the circuit breaker must bereset manually after a fault trip.

The terminal block and electrical interlockingunit IVE is used to connect the operatingmechanism.
Control voltage:c 48 to 415 V, 50/60 Hz - 440 V 60 Hz.The IVE control voltage must be the sameas the motor mechanism voltage.
auxiliaries control plate: ACPThe auxiliaries control plate ACP includes:c two P25M circuit breakers supplying andprotecting the automatic control circuits forthe "Normal" and "Replacement" sources.These circuit breakers have an infinitebreaking capacity;c two relay contactors for the BA or UAcontroller;c the terminal block for connection to thecontroller.
Power supply:Power is supplied by the "Normal" and"Replacement" sources. The controlvoltage for the auxiliaries control plate mustbe the same as for the IVE unit and themotor mechanisms.
Control voltagesc 220 to 240 V 50/60 Hz;c 380 to 415 V 50/60 Hz - 440 V 60 Hz.
Installation:The auxiliaries control plate ACP must bewired to the IVE unit by the customer.

Batibus option for controller UAA communication function can be used tocheck the following from a remote location:c status of the circuit breakers (open,closed or fault trip);c voltage presence on the “Normal” and“Replacement” sources;c presence of an order forcing operation onthe “Replacement” source (e.g. for energymanagement purposes);c values of settings and configurations,c status of the non-priority circuits (whethersubject to load shedding or not).
In automatic mode, this communicationsoption also offers the possibility of remoteforced operation on the “Replacement”source.
