Volgens hom is die kerk by baie interes-

Hough.

Dertig jaar predikantHywasvirdertig jaardie gemeente sepre-

Schalk Viljoen (stigter) ends. Jan Nieder-Heitmann.

“Quotes can range from R1000 to more thanR5000 for an urban accident tow, irrespec-tive of the distance which could be twoblocks or 20km. Be aware of the additionalcharges that can be added to your towingbill. Storage fees at a tower’s yard arecharged on a daily basis and can quicklymount to over R100 per day. Additionalcharges are sometimes reflected as recov-ery costs, administration costs, security

costs orwith someother label that youcouldfind difficult to challenge. Your R2000 towcould soon end up at R6000 and growing. Be-ware the tower who offers you a free tow.No-one works for free and the costs will bepassed on to you in some form or anotherat a later stageandat a rateyoudidnotnego-tiate,” states the website.Other tips include that tow truck drivers

are often paid on an incentive basis and

thereforewill want to persuade you to allowthem to tow your vehicle.Ensure that you get a receipt for your ve-

hicle, check that the towdestination is filledin, ensure that the tow truck driver’s name, company and tow truck registration detailsappear legibly on the towing slip, remove allvaluables from your vehicle before towingand do not let anyone call your service pro-vider or insurer on your behalf.

Motorbike collisions are a concern espe-cially after an accident on Friday when amotorcyclist, believed to be in his fifties, was killed at the intersection of Carl Cronjeand Frans Conradie drives in Bellville.

According to Major Fienie Nimb, spokes-person of Bellville police, thiswas an unfor-tunate incident and a case of culpable homi-cide is being investigated.“Iwent to the sceneand thiswas anunfor-

tunate incident where a man lost his life.We are assisting the family of the deceasedand the truck driver with counselling.”Shortly after 10:00 onFriday, paramedics

from ER24 arrived on the scene where theyfound two off-duty medical doctors per-forming CPR on the rider in the middle ofthe road. Paramedics assisted with ad-vanced life support.

It is understood that a truck collidedwiththe rider and dragged him for several me-tres underneath the truck.Despite all the efforts of the doctors and

paramedics on the scene, they were unable

to revive the man. He was later declareddead on the scene.

The truck driver was not injured in theincident. He was later transported from thescene to receive counselling.

The exact cause of the collisionwill be in-vestigated by the local police.

With winter approaching ER24 gave tipsfor bikers and learners on scooters:

Keep a safe following distance; do not beimpatient; refrain from skipping stop signsand red traffic lights; be cautious whenchanging lanes; do not drive or ride whileunder the influence of liquor or drugs; donot allow yourself to become distracted; becalmwhile on the road; avoid road rage; in-dicators are there for a reason – use them;ensure your vehicle is roadworthy and con-duct regular safety inspections; and wearapproved protective and reflective or high-ly visible gear.

Bikers are urged to have some sort ofidentification or family contact detailswiththem in case of an emergency.

The magician presents an ordinarypiece of cloth.

“I will now transform it into a jawdropping piece of art,” she says.

She twirls her wand high above her headand intones the magic words: “You-don’t-just-swing-a-magic-wand-at-a-piece-of-cloth-and-then-you-have-a-quilt!”

Right there, where the cloth once laid, was now the exact same piece of cloth.

Daphne de Jager (61), a quilt maker ex-traordinaire from Panorama, doesn’t reallyownawand. Sheuses herneedle and sewingmachine. But the outcome is every bit asmagical and mysterious as someone pullinga rabbit from a hat.

The quilter takes a variety of textiles andcolours and revolutionises it into anythingfrom a wall decoration or cushion cover toa blanket or a runner.

The end result is quite spectacular, butthe question remains: “Why does the quilt-ing bug bite so few young people or men?”

“We try to encourage young people toquilt, but because needlework has beendropped from the school curriculum, chil-dren don’t develop interest in this. Thereare very few teenagers who can even sowon their own buttons,” explains Daphne.

“In the last three years the Quilters Guildhave made a very special effort with theyouth block challenge. Older quilters willact as a mentor for a child aged between sixand 18 and then the children are encouragedto make a block quilt, which is judged na-tionally.”

According toDaphne this judging processwas actually completed this weekend.

As for the lack of men in quilting, Daphneproudly says that one of themanagingmem-bers of the South African Quilters Guild isin fact a man. But this is clearly the excep-tion to the rule.

General assumptions that quilters areolder and tightly knit women are in manycases correct.

“What people don’t understand is how

gratifying quilting can be,” says Daphne.“For many women it’s a therapy; a crea-

tive outlet. Women like cloth, such asclothes and fabric, so if you’ve done a bit ofembroidery or are just interested in work-ing with cloth, then quilting will appeal toyou. And the camaraderie is something tobehold!”

This companionship among quilters wasborn along with the craft by American pio-neers.

Daphne finds the history of quilting fasci-nating, and much like her passion for hercraft which can clearly be seen in her work, her fervour towards history can be heard inher words.

“Theywerepoorpeople andnotmuchwasavailable, so they tookall the loose cloth andsowed it together. It is always fascinatingto read what women did to keep busy andwhat kind of support groups they formed foroneanother. InAmerica therewerequiltingbees in communities. If a young girl was go-ing to get married, her mother and herfriends would come together and tradition-ally make a block and put this all together

by hand.”Daphne speaks with the authority of

someone who’s been quilting all her life, soit’s surprising to hear that she’s only beenat it since 2002.

“I was always involved with crafts frommy teenager years. Then I went to BellvilleLibrary sometime in 2002 and saw this beau-tiful exhibition called Creative Threads, which got me interested,” she remembers.

“I went for some classes and along withseven other women we opened a groupcalled the Stoep Quilters in 2002. We havesince grown to 30members andmeetmonth-lyhere in theDutchReformedChurchhall.”

The guild’s annual general meeting washeld on Saturday at Northlink College, andeven drew quilters from as far as George.

“The magic of quilting can only truly beunderstood once you have immersed your-self in its glory.”

It transcends cheap, mass-produceditems, eclipses therapy and transforms thequilter into a magician.

The rest can just look on in bewilderment.Abra-quilt-dabra!

Scores of people dropped by a security exhi-bition in the parking lot of amajor shoppingchain in Parow on Saturday.

Crime prevention agencies united underthe theme “Blowing the whistle on crime”,showing how vital it was for all roleplayersand the community to work together to pre-vent and fight crime.

Participants included the local police and

Community Policing Forum (CPF), Law En-forcement, the Traffic Department and vari-ous neighbourhood watches (Pacrif, Avon-Tijger and Parow West Ward 26).

CPF chairperson Roger Cannon elabo-rates: “The community could find out aboutthe crime prevention agencies in the areaand get the relevant contact details. Privatecompanies displayed their vehicles and oth-er roleplayers displayed other kind of itemsat the event.”

Even businesses got in on the act by spon-

soring vouchers for a lucky draw. Bevera-ges and boerewors rolls were also madeavailable.

“We will be having such projects in all thesectors within the Parow precinct to high-light the reporting of criminal activity inthe various neighbourhoods,” saysCannon.

“It has once again been highlighted howimportant it is for community members tojoin their local watches and report any sus-picious activities in their neighbourhood.Together we can really make a difference.”

Over 300 people participated in theWorld Hand Hygiene relay at the Tyg-erberg Hospital on Thursday.

The human chain from the surgical out-patients department on the fifth floor to theD5 surgical ward consisted of doctors, nurs-es, hospital management, ancillary, domes-tic, housekeeping, administrative, emergen-cy medical staff, technicians and students.

One of the hospital’s goals was to break therecord of people participating in this event, but unfortunately they fell short.

Ultimately, this day wasn’t about records, but creating awareness of how importanthand hygiene is.

Hospital spokesperson, Laticia Pienaar, elaborates: “Every year hospital related in-fections kill 16 million patients worldwide.Germs are microscopic and cannot be seenwith the naked eye. Hands are the most com-mon vehicle of transmission of germs in thecommunity and in hospitals. A simple inter-vention of effective hand hygiene can poten-tially reduce hospital acquired infectionsand thus related deaths by up to 50%.”

The hospital formed part of a WorldHealth Organisation “Save Lives” cam-paign.

All participants passed on a hand hygienebaton and demonstrated a moment of handhygiene prior to and after handling of the ba-ton.

Pienaar continues: “In 2015 over 30 000people took part in relays internationallyand an Iranian hospital set a new recordwith 660 workers. We fell short of thisrecord, but it has been shown that all hospi-

tals who took part in the campaign, increasethe handwashing/hygiene compliance with-in their own health care facility.”

The event was officially opened by thechief operations officer of Tygerberg Hospi-tal, Dr Paul Ciapparelli.

All wards and individuals were encour-aged to create hand hygiene posters, withthe best judged posters winning a variety of

sponsored hamper prizes. Prizes were hand-ed out immediately after the event.

Pienaar emphasises that it is a patient’sright to ask their health professional wheth-er they washed their hands before treatingyou.

She concludes: “When washing yourhands you should use soap and water. Fric-tion and rubbing is most important to loosengerms from the skin surface.

“Make sure you rub everywhere – bothsurfaces of both hands, between the fingers, nails, tip of fingers and thumbs as well asweb spaces. Rub for at least 30-40 seconds, rinse well and dry properly with a cleanhand towel or paper. The use of hand sanitis-ers is an effective way to clean hands with-out soap and water. Hand sanitisers cannotbe used when hands are visibly dirty orsoiled with body fluids. You should washyour hands before and after the preparationof food, before and after eating, after usingthe toilet or changing a nappy, after touch-ing animals or waste items, after blowingyour nose, or sneezing or coughing in yourhands.

“Hospitalised patients should wash theirhands on entering a ward, clinic, or patientroom, or when they exit these units. Thesame applies to visitors of hospitalised pa-tients.”

It’s up to the ‘reader’and human ‘book’ how they will use the sev-en minutes they can spend together. The‘books’ are varied in age, sex and culturalbackground. Our 2016 theme and messageis the ‘celebration of life: stories of hope’,”say spokespeople Trudie Retief and Joletavan Wyk.

The City of Cape Town’s Social Develop-ment and Early Childhood Develop-ment Directorate has recruited and

trained nearly 400 people in this financialyear to participate in its home-based careprogramme.

According to a statement, the directoratestarted the initiative in 2014 as part of theVulnerable Groups Programme, to lend ahand to elderly residents in need of assist-ance around the home, but also companion-ship.

The home-based caregivers programmeemploys workers through the City’s Ex-panded Public Works Programme (EPWP)who render social care services throughpsychosocial support, companionship, housekeeping and light household duties aswell as referrals to other social services.

The caregivers offer their services toseniors in their home environment and atold-age homes, clinics and hospitals.

In the first year, 2580 elderly residentssigned up for the programme.

Last year that number more than doubledto 5557.

This year saw a high level of interestagain, prompting the directorate to reviseits target of 300 caregivers to 400.

All of the caregivers have completedtheir training and have started providingservices to clients.

Mayco member for social developmentand early childhood development, SuzetteLittle, says this speaks to the vulnerabilityof elderly residents – many of whom are nolonger able to do things for themselves, likecleaning the house or even their personalgrooming.

“I’m enthused that so many have takenadvantage of this opportunity. Not onlydoes it mean that little things are beingdone around the house for them, but it also

means a break from the loneliness thatmany experience – especially those livingon their own.”

The home-based caregivers are sourcedfrom the City’s job seeker database and, aft-er their recruitment, the caregivers under-go various training sessions.

They receive in-depth training on theprinciples of home-based social care, eti-quette and proper conduct in caring for anolder person in the home environment.

They are also trained on how to identifyolder people in need through communityprofiling and to provide basic relief for fam-ily members of older people.

Accredited first-aid training, communi-cation and companionship aspects are alsoaddressed with the trainees.

The home-based caregivers have beentrained and appointed to offer the followingservices: Respite relief for family membersand caregivers of seniors, companionship, reading, assistance in preparation of meals, assistance with light cleaning and laundryduties, and referral of seniors requiringhands-on care or medical care to the dis-tricts for further support.

“The caregivers deserve a special thankyou for rendering this service. Home-basedcare is not an easy task, especially as someseniors see outsiders as a threat to their in-dependence. In many cases the caregiversare also the ones who identify cases ofabuse and assist with interventions to helpstop this cycle,” Little says.

Residents who need assistance of a home-based caregiver can contact the social de-velopment department’s offices:V The Tygerberg office – call Elmerie Voorslag on021 918 7224; the northern office – call Sheree Vis-agie on 021 444 2719; the eastern office – call LindaPetersen on 021 900 1683, and the western office– call 021 529 4802.

Cooperation helps to win fight against crimeBRENDEN RUITER

Acombination of vigilance, luck, coop-eration and pure determination madesure that two alleged car burglars are

in custody.Chairperson of the Bothasig Community

Policing Forum (CPF), Neal de Wit, and hiswife, Jenny, were recently doing crime pre-ventionpatrols inRosendalStreet inBothas-igwhen theynoticed a blueVolkswagenGolfwith two occupants. While cruising past henoticed another Golf further up in the street.

According to police spokesperson War-rant Officer Jacques Mostert, De Wit ap-proached the second vehicle.

“When he came closer, the two men that

were standing next to the car started to walkaway from the car towards the blue Golf. They got into the car and drove away,” saysMostert.

Alarm raisedDe Wit raised the alarm. “He called the po-

lice, law enforcement and all the neighbour-hood watch members that were at that mo-ment participating in a combined crime pre-vention operation in Bothasig. He drove adifferent route hoping to cut off the car atanother exit, but when he got there the carwas nowhere to be seen.

“He then went back to check on the whiteGolf that was left behind. When he got therehe found that the two same men noticed ear-lier had returned and were busy with the ve-

hicle,” says Mostert.By that time Michael Meyer and Dan di

Trapani from the Edgemead NeighbourhoodWatch had joined him.

“They proceeded to keep the men found atthe vehicle there, as the indication was thatthey tried to steal the vehicle. During thistime the blue Golf was not seen, but De Witwas informed by the police that the car wasin the same street but that it drove off whenthey passed it on the way.

Arrested“Warrant Officer Johan Esterhuizen from

theBothasig police andLawEnforcement of-ficer Jennifer Smit had an idea where to goand look for the vehicle. They found the blueGolf with implements to commit theft out of

motor vehicles inside as well as a cellularphone belonging to one of the suspects foundat the white Golf, and arrested the occu-pants. The two suspects found at the whiteVW Golf were detained for theft of motor ve-hicle.

Everyone detained has appeared in Good-wood court.

Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Jacobspraised the members from the communityfor their support in the fight against crimeandexpresseda specialwordof thanks to themembers of the CPF and local neighbour-hood watches for their assistance with theongoing crime prevention operations.

Skool doen onontbeerlike werkANDRÉ BAKKES

@andrebakkes

Ontmoet Riaan*, ’n student by

’n vooraanstaande kollege.Riaan se lewe was op ’n ver-

Nie alle stories is egter so positief soos

jy weet, hoe minder weerbaar is jy.“Dis baie hartseer.

vandiehospitaal hierheen, par-tykeer in rolstoele.

plaas.Michelle Luscombe, ’n ontvanger van ’n

skenkershart, sal praat by die byeenkomsmet die tema “Uit die hart”.Viljoen Retief sal gedurende die oggend

so twee of drie liedjies sing en daar sal ookitems uitgeloot word.

number one, the guard marched towardsme and indicated that I was not allowedto park there. He furiously pointedtowards the sign reading “Moms & Tots”.The guard reasoned that I was clearly

not a mom, despite the exaggerated bagsunder my eyes hanging so low that Ineeded a bra.I refused to move the car and flatly

ignored the man.Yet, he had a point!I’m not a mom. Sowhy on earth arethere no “Dads &Tots” parkingspaces?Little did I know

my day was aboutto go from bad toworse.Screaming child

number two had adirty nappy andmuch to mydismay I discov-ered that the baby

changing area was located in the wom-en’s rest rooms. These two issues are more than just a

personal gripe. It affects every single dad, and even

more so every single single dad!As if us poor souls don’t have enough

on our plates already. It’s quite clearly a case of gross sexual

discrimination and tests a tired father’snerves to the extreme.Someone with more energy needs to do

something about it.And don’t get me started on the differ-

ence between maternity and paternityleave in South Africa!A mother needs time to heal physically

and emotionally. In most cases she needsto breastfeed every three hours, so theyobviously need to spend a long time athome after giving birth.A father’s role during this time is

nothing to scoff at, especially if he mustget up to go to work in the morning.Three days of paternity leave is a joke.

V Regarding roadworks on Okavango be-tween Langeberg Road and PinehurstDrive. I never saw so many illiterate mo-torists in my life! Road signs clearly indi-cated “No through way. Residents only.”and another “Cul-de-sac. No outlet. DEADEND”. Why are motorists so arrogant toignore these road signs to the frustrationof Langeberg Heights residents? Every-one ended up making a U-turn at the endof Hennops Street, wasting their owntime anyway! – Anonymous

ingewy.

Voordat ek my sitplek

this was actually happening –but when I looked again hestarted to come closer to myvehicle with his clenched fistsand threatening behaviour.Immediately I felt threatenedand started to move my car outof the bay whilst franticallyhooting to get the attention ofthe petrol attendants who justlooked on.By this time I was thinking of

my son who might be steppingout soon from the shop to getback into the car. This manmight hurt him as it lookedthat he was ready to pounce mycar or us. As I hooted, andmoved off, the guy chased mewith clenched fists whilst mydaughter, who is eight yearsold, was screaming franticallyand crying in the car that “hewas coming” and calling herbrother’s name. I tried toremain calm and exited thepremises to throw him off (myson was not out of the shop yet)but he was still in pursuit ofus.At the robot, I made another

U-turn to get back on thepremises to get my son, prayingthat he might still be in theshop.I drove straight in front of

the shop and screamed for myson, who had exited the shop bynow and thankfully stood onthe side. At this time the manwas pinned down by themanagement and when myhusband called later, he wasinformed matter-of-factly thatthe man was a “troublemaker”and was taken away by thepolice. As you can well imagine, my

Local wins international surfing pro

Tanika Hoffman from Hout Bay on her way to clinching the women’s title at the Cape Town Proat Big Bay, on Sunday. PHOTO: WSL / VAN GYSEN

Hout Bay local Tanika Hoffman andJoaquin Del Castillo from Peruclinched the women’s andmen’s titles

respectively in the inauguralCapeTownPropresented by Quiksilver at Big Bay, on Sun-day.The first World Surf League (WSL) Quali-

fying Series QS1 000 rated events held inCape Town for six years for men and since1992 for women, the Cape Town Pro present-ed competitors with the opportunity to earnpoints on both the QS and WSL Africa re-gional rankings, along with prize purses ofR30 000 for men and R20 000 for women.Hoffman emerged triumphant in the see-

saw women’s final in which she and FayeZoetmulder (Port Elizabeth) both deliveredscores in the excellent range, taking the leadwith an 8.83 that left Zoetmulder needing an8.60 for victory.“To be a winner in my home town is just

great! I haven’t won an event in so long andto win a WSL event and earn some pointshere is really an honour and so exciting,”said Hoffman. “It was a very well surfed fi-nal. Faye had a couple of really good waveswhile I played the patience game. Then Ifound a great little runner that let me do acouple of turns and gave me an eight, andFaye didn’t find another good wave.”Zoetmulder, who – like Hoffman – has

competed extensively on theQS circuit over-seas, was proud of the standard of women’ssurfing at an event in home surf.“It was a really good finalwith Tanika. We

threw some good scores down. The waveswere pretty tricky and it was challenging sofor both be getting scores in the excellentrange was really good,” said Zoetmulder. “Iused to surf the QS overseas and to have twoevents at home now and not have to travelis amazing. The girls are all competing, weare getting more entries and I’m stoked forthe all the sponsors to be getting involved.”

Hoffman pocketed R8 000 and 1000 pointsfor her victory with Zoetmulder collectingR4000 and 750 points. Nikita Robb (East Lon-don) andTarrynChudleigh (Kommetjie) fin-ishedequal thirdafter losing toHoffmanandZoetmulder in their respective semi-finalencounters.Del Castillo led the high scoring final

against Dylan Lightfoot (Jeffrey’s Bay) fromthe outset, weaving his way through thetricky one-metre high tide waves and finish-ing his rides with flair on the sand. The 20-year-old from Punta Hermosa, just south ofLima, posted rides of 7.33 and an excellent8.67 which Lightfoot could not match, de-spite earning a pair of sevens.“I’m so happy! I’ve come a long way from

Peru on my own and I really focused on thiscompetition. This win is for my family, formy country and for Punta Hermosa whereI live,” said an ecstatic Del Castillo, whowaschaired from the edge of the water to the po-dium by a pair of local surfers in a heart-warming display of sportsmanship.“Thanks Cape Town, thanks South Africa;I’m really, really happy. Thank you.”The victory earned Castillo R12 000 and

1000 points that will see him jump nearly 100positions up the QS rankings from his rank-ing of 167th coming into the event.Lightfoot, ranked 96th before the Cape

Town Pro, was satisfied with his runner-upfinish and the 750 points that will see himrise nearly 40 places on the leader board, butwas frustrated at coming so close to a firstQS win.“I was just out of rhythm with the waves

in the final. Joaquin got that eight whichwas a turning point in the heat and he wasinmuchbetter rhythm,” saidLightfoot. “I’msatisfied with second place in a QS event –it’s a major jump on the rankings for me.V Full results of the Cape Town Pro can be foundat WorldSurfLeague.com.

NEW RECORD: YOUNG NIPPER BRAVES ICY WATERS

Swimmer makes waves

Enya showed true grit as she endured the icy ocean water during her record attempt.

STEHAN SCHOEMAN

At the tender age of twelve Enyavan Niekerk etched her name inhistory onThursday 7April as the

youngest female swimmer ever to swimfromRobben Island to Blouberg Strand. What makes this

feat even more re-markable is the factthat she braved the icycold water without awetsuit.Enya’s attempt is

recognised by CapeLong Distance SwimAssociation (CLDSA).The Table View Pri-

mary School learnercompleted the 7.5kmdistance in a time ofthree hours and 14minutes.“I trained five

months for this swim-ming in the oceanwith the water beingbetween 13 and 15 de-grees,” she says.“Somedayswere tougher thanothers,

but in the end itwas allworth it. Besidesthe cold water, I also had to dodge hun-dreds of jellyfish which required focus

to navigate it safely to the end.“BrendanHiscockwho swamwithme

encouraged me and helped a lot. Thefirst half was pretty easy, but soon afterthat the tide turned against us and ittook a lot of mental toughness to com-plete the distance. I kept imagining I

was in a hot tub,”laughed Enya. Her father, Leon,

took her to Big Bayevery day for her tocomplete her 2kmswim. The goal was todo 10km every week.“I am a very proud

dad. Enya showed tre-mendous courage anda fighting spirit forfive months. In theend all the sacrificeswere worth it. It wassomething she want-ed to do and now shecan tick the box,” saidLeon.Enya is a member

of the Nippers BigBay Lifesaving Club. “I enjoy spendingtime in the sea and I will definitely dothe swim again in the future; let’s justhope the sea will be calm and make ita little bit easier,” chuckled Enya.

Saturday’sKillarney combination of the sec-ond round of the national MoPar 3-Hour Af-rican Endurance Series and the third leg ofthe Power Series sponsored by WingfieldMotors and radio partner KFM Radio, is go-ing to offer spectators almost 10 hours ofmagnificent motorsport. And with events for cars and motorcycles

and entries that include an exciting selec-tion of exotic machinery, there should besomething for everyone. The Mutlu Batteries Classic Cars provide

an excellent example. Because in addition toformer champion Keith Andrews in an Alfa

GTA, Dave Kopke’s magic Mazda R100 andRichard Quixley’s Datsun 240Z, the Lange-baan Mouton brothers have entered a 6.3-li-tre Chev de Ville V8 for Erik and a seldomseen Studebaker Silver Hawk with 5.8 litresof Chev V8 power, for Jacques.Interesting cars in the Crossley & Webb

Sports and GT events include former title-holder Peter Little whose rotary engined Lo-tus 7 is said to be the quickest 7 in Africa, whileMikeBeachyHeadwill be at thewheelof a Porsche 917 replica.

However they are hardly likely to botherdrivers like themeteoric Dawie Joubert (Lo-tus Exige), or Francis Carruthers (JunoSS3), at the head of the field. The big V8 Masters promises to be a close

one with multiple former champion MarcelAngel and Fabio Tafani, the winner of themost recent round, both having to comefrom behind after missing an earlier event,British driver Stephen Young may be hardpressed to retain his championship lead. His task is not going to bemade any easier

by the presence of hard driving former dou-ble South African rally champion Enzo Ku-un, who is due make his main circuit debuton Saturday. The Midas Clubman shootout promises to

be another close one as Danie van Niekerk(BMW 325), takes on Alex Johnson (AudiQuattro), Clint Rennard (VWGolf) and stockcar ace Jesse Huggett (VW Jetta).Other races on the Power Series pro-

gramme are going to feature Kent HomesFine Cars, the Bold Marine GTi Challengeand Formula Libre single seaters. The 3-Hour field is then due to be sent

away at 17:30 with a finish under lights inthe dark.
