Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time ‘Mat’ Leave! / Matt Arrive! Welcome to Matthew (Matt) Kallio. He is a Sudbury Native and a new musician being brought on to serve our worship needs. With the loss of Danny Shehata (going to Ireland to Medical studies) and our summer musician Kathryn Kettle (returning to University) and the soon to be born child of Christina Bégin (and maternity leave) we are more blessed to have a new musician on board! So Christina will be on ‘mat’ leave and Matt will arrive! HISTORIC VISIT On Sept. 22-27 Pope Francis will be in North America after a short visit to Cuba. He will visit Washington D.C. : meeting with President Obama, Bishops of U.S.A., Canonization Mass of Junipero Serra, speak to U.S.A. Congress, New York City : St. Patrick Cathedral, United Nations, World Trade Centre, East Harlem, Madison Square Garden Mass Philadelphia : Mass at Cathedral, Independence Mall, Festival of Families, Bishops of U.S.A., Correctional Facility, Mass of World meeting of Families. Please pray for a fruitful and safe journey for him. The official deadline is by THE END OF DAY ON THE FRIDAY THE WEEK PRIOR TO THE BULLETIN. As an example, to have your announcement submitted on time for the September 27 th bulletin, the information needs to be in the office by 4pm on Friday, September 18 th . This allows for preparation, proofing and amendments before print. NO LAST MINUTE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping your Parish office staff meet their deadlines. CONSULTATION UNDERWAY: The matter changing the Sat. 5:15 pm Mass to 4:30 pm has been requested by a number of parishioners. A consultation is now being done with key leaders in the Parish Pastoral Advisory Council, the Parish Liturgy Committee, the Parish Finance Committee. They will consult with others for reactions. A poll will be taken of parishioners at the Sat. Mass of Sept. 26 th . A decision will be announced after that date. IF approved, the new Sat. Mass at 4:30 pm will begin on Sat. October 17 Development & Peace: Mark you r calendars now! Development & Peace Social Justice Retreat at Villa Loyola on Long Lake Rd. will take place on Oct. 30, 31, Nov. 1, 2015. Blessing of Animals: Sunday, October 4th at 2 pm. The feast of St. Francis of Assisi. This short ritual thanks God for the gift of our animals. PLEASE make sure animals are on a leash, chain, cage etc. to avoid the trouble expressed in the cartoon!

Life Chain to protect human life: will follow in front of Health Sciences North on Sunday, Oct. 4th, 2:30-3:30pm. A silent reminder of those aborted there.

CWL News: NOTICE TO ALL CWL MEMBERS: RE: Increase in CWL Membership Fees for 2017: Due to a procedural error (re: 30 day notice required), the June meeting vote to increase CWL Annual Membership dues from $20 to $25 (starting 2017) will need to be repeated. There will be another vote held during our next General Meeting on Wednesday, October 14th at 7pm. Members are encouraged to attend..

CWL Harvest Tea: VOLUNTEERS are needed to help make St. Patrick’s famous homemade PASTA and CROSTOLI. Pasta will be made on Saturday, September 26th form 9 am - 1 pm in the Parish hall. Ladies are encouraged to bring in their pasta rollers and linen cloths. Crostoli will be made on Tuesday, Oct. 13th from 9 am - 1 pm in the Parish hall. Donated items are also required for our Penny and Craft Tables. Items can be dropped off at the Parish Office.

Catch the Fire: on Sat. Oct.. 24th from 9 am – 3 pm at Our Lady of Fatima, 45 Spruce Ave., Elliot Lake. All women are invited to this dynamic, interactive presentation that will “ignite” your passion for the CWL. Let the League “Catch the Fire” in you. Come with hearts burning and souls yearning. Bring a brown bag lunch. Refreshments provided. -

First Annual Grandparents Day: Last Sunday at the 10 am Mass many grandparents were acknowledged in their wonderful role of being a witness to faith, love and service. The children present were so excited to be a part of this event! Thanks go out to Brenda Cavallin and Loretta DiGioseffo for collaborating. Also thanks to Holy Cross School officials for co-operating in this wonderful event! Well done!!!

Job Opportunity: The Church of Christ the King has an opening for a parish secretary and we are looking to employ

a replacement by the end of this month. This job includes meeting with parishioners and requires good office, bookkeeping and computer skills.
