The Buffalo Valley UM Church, 954 Johnson Mill Road, Lewisburg; is holding a Kettle-cooked Soup sale on Saturday, April 12. Ham & Bean and Beef Vegetable Soup will be available for $5 per Quart. To order soup, please call (570) 568-8044 or (570) 490-7587. Soup will be available for pick-up at the church beginning at 10 AM that Saturday. There will also be a bake sale at the

church that morning. (If you do not pre-order, there will be a limited amount available on a first come/first serve basis) Proceeds benefit the ministries of the church.

An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held at the White Deer Twp. Fire Hall in New Columbia on Saturday, April 12th from 7a.m. – 11 a.m. Menu includes eggs made to order, home fries, sausage links, bacon, pancakes, toast, coffee, and juice. Cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 4-12 and free for ages 3 and younger.

Created and served by the students of The School of Business and Hospitality at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, the evening will start with champagne and hors d’ oeuvres in the Museum’s

Reception Room, including beef carpaccio with watercress garnish, crostoni with olive tapenade, and crabmeat- and fresh herb-stuffed mushrooms. A soup trio of red pepper bisque,

chicken and wild rice, and duck consommé and a salad course of romaine hearts with “Green Goddess” dressing will follow. After a fish course of herb-crusted cod with asparagus risotto and a

poultry course of chicken roulade stuffed with apples and goat cheese with an apple cider sauce, sweet potato puree, and Brussels sprouts, an entrée of apricot-stuffed pork loin with roasted tourné

potato and vegetables or stuffed beef tenderloin with sun dried tomatoes, bell peppers, spinach, and grated parmesan will be served. While a dessert of banana cheesecake and champagne sabayon with

In 2012, when Carlisle Events first promoted collector car excite-ment at the Blooms-burg Fairgrounds with the Bloomsburg Nationals, it did so by inheriting many great cars, activities and displays from previous versions of the annual event. In 2013, however, one popular attraction was not retained and after much support from the collector car community, Carlisle Events is pleased to announce the return of the Flames R’ Us Flame Throwers for a special performance on Friday evening at approximately 8 p.m. Though this display is Friday evening, the event itself runs from August 8-10 at the Bloomsburg Fair-grounds.

Now, entering its third year as the pre-senter of this great car show weekend in north central Penn-

sylvania, the Car-lisle Events’ team continues to plan a spectacular collec-tor car weekend in Bloomsburg. With the Flames R’ Us Flame Throwers showcase, guests have a chance to see a group of car crazy guys who basi-cally shoot fire high into the sky from the backs of their large cars! Members of this group come from all over but are primarily based in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jer-sey. What started in 2002 with spot shots at local events has turned into a travel-ing east coast road show.

Guests of all ages will love the fire show which will take place on the track near the main grandstand. As the sun sets on Co-lumbia County, fire will reach upwards of 65 feet into the sky to light the Blooms-burg night. The cars that shoot flames

are classics – boats if you will, and have specially designed exhaust and fuel systems to make this amazing show pos-sible.

In addition to the Flames R’ Us Flame Throwers on Friday night, the Blooms-burg Nationals also hosts family fun with animal handler Bwana Jim, a slow drags competition, burnouts, muffler rap and more. Also planned in 2014 is a Date Night promo-tion where couples are encouraged to attend on Saturday for live music in the late afternoon, then stay for a movie screening of Ameri-can Graffiti on a gi-ant inflatable screen.
