Brian; Some of the lines had slipped into next columns during transfer. Iwill abbreviate this time.There are no missing generations. All Saints,St. Andrews and St. Nicholas are all Newcastle C of E. churches with theirown parishes, so your family were living there before 1700. They alsobaptised non conformists seperately. There were manybchoices for non cons.such as Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian and a few others. They chose tobe Independant Congregationalist, which is new to me. Your directancestors;

Edward Turnbull born circa 1680, father of;Edward Turnbull baptised 21st May 1705 St. Nicholas non.conf. wife FrancesPearsonWilliam bap. 22nd Nov. 1731, St. Andrews non. conf. son of above;William has two sons, each have a son William, either could be yours;

William bapt. 30 April 1758 St. Andrews1754 St. Andrews

and Edward bapt. 29 Sept.

William 27 Sept 1778Longbenton

Mary Murray or William 13 June 1779

Elizabeth 1801 St. AndrewsWilliam 1803Mary Ann 1806 St. James IndependantThomas 1808

Jane 1814

Hannah 1816

Hope this is clearer. If you can tell me the next generation, I should beable to pick them up on the census, unless you already have this of course.

Best Wishes Albert Turnbull

Dear Brian, I am more used to working with snail mail, so I shall clarifyyour direct descendants beneath each other, leaving out any siblings;Edward Turnbull, circa 1680, father of;Edward Turnbull, born 1705, married Frances Pearson in 1730. Parents of;William Turnbull, born 1731, wife unknown, father of ;William Turnbull, born 1758, married Eliz. Elliott in 1776. Parents of;(also Edward 1754)William Turnbull, born 1778, married Mary Murray?? in1801.

Why the question marks? There is a possible alternate route through thesame family.If we return to William born 1731, he had a second son Edward born 1754, asfollows;Edward Turnbull born 1754 married Hannah? They also had a son calledWilliam in 1779;He is also the correct age to marry Mary Murray in 1801There is no way I can be positive which of the two brothers is your directancestor, but we know that from William 1731 and beyong is your direct line.Lonbenton parish is adjacent to Newcastle. It shares a border with Allsaints and is less than i mile from St. Andrews. Longbenton did nothave a non. con baptismal church so residents would have to cross intoNewcastle to keep their'faith. Best Wishes Albert
