How Does it Happen• Ushers syndrome

– Hereditary– Recessive transmission

• Both parents carry or have– 3 types

• Ushers 1– Typically people who are born deaf

» Use ASL• Ushers 2

– Typically people born hard of hearing» Use more English sign

• Ushers 3– The hearing loss is sometimes not present at birth but is

progressive over the years

What is it•It is a device that helps people with low vision see things that are too small

How Does it Work?• Its simple:

– Get in front of a closed circuit TV (CCTV)– Place the thing that you wish to view

under the camera– Look at the screen and then you will see

the thing you put under there in jumbo size.
