The border will extend approximately 15” past the Fabric B borders already sewn in place. Sew the stripe border in place stopping 1/4” from each end. Sew all four borders to each side of the quilt top. Miter the corners and trim away excess fabric. 5. Quilting: Layer and baste the quilt top, batting and backing together. Quilt the layers in an allover design of your choice, stopping 1” from the outside edge of your quilt on each side. 6. Prairie Points: Fold all of the 5-1/2” prairie point squares in half folding from top to bottom to make a rectangle. Press fold. Now turn the corners down to the center from each folded edge. After both top corners are folded down you will have a prairie point triangle with a folded opening line from top to bottom in the center. Press folds into sharp creases. Make 72.7. Finishing: Overlap the prairie point triangles slightly as you arrange them in a row on the outside edges of the quilt. Line up raw edge of prairie point to raw edge of quilt with folded crease line facing quilt top. Sew in place through the quilt top and batting. Do not sew through the backing fabric. Turn prairie points out and press the fold line. Turn backing under to hide all raw edges and stitch in place. Repeat using 18 prairie points for each side of the quilt.

Sewing (Refer to color photograph of the quilt for color and appliqué placement of all blocks.)1. Appliqué Blocks: Using the Fabric F background fabric, appliqué the 5 flower blocks. Use the full size patterns provided and use the block diagrams to cut the needed appliqué pieces and place them on the background. Appliqué the blocks by hand or machine using your favorite method. We recommend using fusible web if you prefer machine appliqué. Make 5 appliqué blocks.2. Row Assembly: The quilt is sewn together in diagonal rows using narrow Fabric B sashings. Refer to the diagram to see how the rows are sewn together. Use the large setting Fabric C triangles to square off the diagonal rows and the small Fabric D triangles to square off the corners. The Fabric B sashing squares and small setting triangles are pieced into the sashings separately to help keep the blocks and large setting squares lined up correctly. Refer to the diagram for diagonal row assembly.3. Narrow Borders: Sew the Fabric B border strips together end to end. Cut two pieces 55-5/8” long and sew to opposite sides of the quilt. Cut two pieces 57-5/8” long and sew to the top and bottom of the quilt.4. Stripe Borders: The remaining wide border from Fabric A is one border piece printed then fussy cut to look like multiple borders. Fold each border strip in half end to end and press the centerfold line. Pin the center of the border to the center of the quilt top. Pin the border in place to the outside end of the quilt top.
