>ENGAGE GOD LENT SERMON SERIES Veiled Victories: “Lent is not merely a journey to the cross but a journey to an empty tomb and to God’s victory.” During the weekends in Lent we will examine a variety of accounts in which Jesus is a “victor” over someone, or something. All of this, however, points us ahead to the great and final victory of Christ on Easter morning. ATTENTION PARENTS OF 5TH GRADERS—[or 6th, 7th & 8th] - our spiritual lives are often equated with a journey. Along the way, there are stepping stones that function as an anchor in a maddening sea of change. One of these faith stepping stones is Holy Communion. Parents and students are invited to the spring session of the Holy Communion Faith Stepping Stone. This four-week class begins Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. in the Youth Lounge. Questions - Contact PB at [email protected]. EASTER PLANTS-On Feb. 27/28, we will begin selling flowers to decorate the church for Easter. The final sale date will be March 6. Be sure to look for our table in the church lobby. DO YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN? The church nursery is open and staffed at all church services by licenses professionals for children age three and under. For more information, contact Jeremy Ashley at [email protected]. SUNDAY BIBLE STUDIES Bible Studies and Sunday School meet today at 9:30 a.m. PASTORS’ BIBLE STUDY - The Life of Jesus – From the Gospel of Mark. Pastor Gary and Pastor Ken will be your tour guides. Location: Chapel

THE BOOK OF ACTS - Please join us for an in-depth study of the Book of Acts and see God's power at work in the founding of the church and spread of the Good News. Location Rooms 4-5, Leader: Kathy Bell. All are welcome. NEW SUNDAY BIBLE STUDY – “Vanishing Grace – Whatever happened to the Good News?” This 5-session video series is based on the book by Philip Yancey. Explore what kind of news is good to a culture that thinks it has rejected the Christian version. Come discover effective ways to share God's grace with others in a jaded society that is often hostile to the church. Starts Sunday, Feb. 21at 9:30 a.m. Leader: David Brown. Location: Church Lounge MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDY AND GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES NEW MEN’S BIBLE STUDY - “Elijah – Living Securely in an Insecure World.” Every day the news reinforces that we live in an insecure world. Elijah's times were no safer. He faced famine, murder and corruption - with both courage and fear. This series helps us look beyond the world's insecurity to our sovereign God who reigns forever. Starts Wednesday, Feb. 24, 6-7 a.m. Location: Church Lounge (Study guide, coffee and pastries provided) NEW LADIES BIBLE STUDY—Beginning Monday, Feb. 29 join us for 7“The Friends of Jesus” by Karen Kingsbury. We will be studying the relationship between Jesus and 6 of His friends –Simon the Leper, Martha, Jarius, Mary Magdalene, Peter, and John. And how these can improve our own relationship with Jesus. This Bible study meets Mondays at 7 p.m. in the Chapel. Questions? Contact Bonnie Young at 586-350-3222 or [email protected] WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY – “How to Be a Christian Without Being Religious” True Christianity is not a religion but a relationship. It’s not about us reaching up; it’s all about God reaching down to us. This is a Bible study based on the Book of Romans. Continues on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. Leader: Lila Tirsell. Location: Rooms 4-5. WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY – “Leaving Guilt Behind” Are you troubled by a nagging sense of guilt? Are you struggling with accepting and appropriating God’s gift of forgiveness through Jesus Christ? This new Bible study meets on Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. Leader: Linda Gawinski. Location: Room 1. WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY – “THE FAMILY OF JESUS” This title, written by Karen Kingsbury, brings biblical characters to life: Joseph-The Protective Father; Zechariah-The Knowing Uncle; John the Baptist-The Chosen Cousin; Elizabeth-The Faithful Aunt; James-The Doubting Brother and Mary-The Loving Mother. Resumes Monday, 7 p.m. Location: Chapel. Leader: Bonnie Young. LIVING YOUR STRENGTHS is an opportunity to uncover and celebrate who God designed you to be. Your talents play out in all your relationships and all you do! do! Our next class is being offered on Thursdays, 7-8:30 pm, April 14 – May 26. Watch for more info soon. For info, contact Sue at [email protected] or 586-463-2921 x103. You are creative and very innovative. You have a tremendous amount of energy and motivation when it comes to turning an idea into action, programs, or services. How do you use your Activator talent in service of God and others?
