TRANSFORMATION BY JESUS
A SINFUL WOMAN-FROM SINFULNESS TO FORGIVENESS
Luke 7:36-50
1. Every one pays for their sin.
“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after
this the judgment.” Hebrews 9:27
But we also pay a price for our sin while here on earth.
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also
reap.” Galatians 6:7
2. Jesus paid the price for your sin.
All the peoples of the world can be divided into 2 groups.
“God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be
saved through him. Whoever believes in him isn't
judged; whoever doesn't believe in him is already
judged, because they don't believe in the name of God's
only Son.” John 3:17-18
“Not Guilty”
The story of this woman teaches that there will be Full Forgiveness for ALL people who call on the name of Jesus, even
those with MANY sins.
“Come now, and let's settle this, says the LORD. Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be white as snow. If they are red as crimson, they will
become like wool.” Isaiah 1:18
“The Lord isn't slow to keep his promise, as some think of
slowness, but he is patient toward you, not wanting
anyone to perish but all to change their hearts and lives.”
2 Peter 3:9
“And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be
saved.” Acts 2:21
“For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall
be saved.” Romans 10:13
3. Amazing forgiveness brings unending
gratefulness and joy.
4. None of this helps you UNLESS you come to the
feet of Jesus and weep over your sins and ask Him to forgive you of your sin.
“Humble yourselves before one another because God opposes the proud but He
gives grace to the humble.”
Definition for repentance: Repentance is a godly
sorrow for sin that results in a change in the way we
think, feel and behave.
5. Then Jesus transforms us from sinfulness into forgiveness-no matter
how great your sins are.
Jesus is calling your name today.
It is not for some little reformation, it is for a
glorious transformation!
Is the reason you have never asked Jesus to
forgive you because you feel that you have done
things that are too horrible to be forgiven?
Jesus forgave Zacchaeus, a crooked tax collector.
Jesus forgave an adulteress.
Jesus forgave the thief on the cross.
Jesus forgave Paul who had imprisoned and murdered Christians!
Jesus will forgive you!
The most important thing from this story today is this:
His grace runs deeper than our worst sins.
