Enhanced Order Management SystemTradeteam has made a significant investment in its ordermanagement system (AURORA) to complement that of itscustomers’. The system can be modified to run alongside acustomer’s existing technology. AURORA provides fullvisibility of orders and delivery. More importantly perhaps,it provides a valuable tool in the assessment of the profitand sales performance of every outlet.

Transport Management System (TMS)TMS has been developed by Tradeteam to reflect thespecialist requirements of the drinks industry and has beenrolled out across the business over the last 12 months.TMS provides the company with invaluable informationon transport crew activity. Its main purpose is to deliver aconsistency in service to all end users. Daily issues arequickly fed back for resolution through a structured de-briefas well as providing tracking of planned versus actualperformance reporting by individual operation and crew andthe monitoring of overall transport performance.

Warehouse Management System (WMS)Tradeteam’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) is bestdescribed as the advanced technology and operating processthat optimizes all of its warehousing functions. These functionstypically begin with receipts from suppliers and end withshipments to customers, and include all inventory movementsand information flows in between.

Tradeteam’s WMS solution has been designed to mergecomputer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment withimproved operating practices for managing inventory, space,labor, and capital equipment in its warehouses anddistribution centres. The implementationof WMS has allowedTradeteam to increase its competitive advantage by reducinglabour costs, improving customer service, increasing inventoryaccuracy, and improving flexibility and responsiveness.The WMS allows the company to manage inventory in realtime, with information as current as the most recent order,shipment, or receipt and any movement in between.

The Development of a Stock Ownership SolutionThis exciting new initiative launched this year allowscustomers to have a direct relationship with its productsuppliers without the need to purchase via a wholesaler.This in turn means that customers no longer have ownershipof stock with the associated costs and significant cash outlayuntil the products are delivered to their outlets. This not onlymeans that customers have direct control of its distributioncosts and performance but also that it leaves the companyfree to focus on its core business of retailing rather thanstock replenishment.

Customer ServiceTradeteam’s Customer Service Centre now manages allcustomers’ distribution queries. The centre employs 40people and reports directly into the operations function,enabling the rapid resolution of any day-to-day service issues.

The centre deals with order capture, direct call logging,complaints analysis and pro-active customer surveys. Already,feedback for this service has been very positive andTradeteam plan to use its capabilities not only to improveservice levels to all of its customers but also to introducemarket focussed initiatives into the business.
