Trade Training Centres are being established to help increase the proportion of students achieving Year 12 or an equivalent qualification to 85 per cent by 2015 and 90 per cent by 2020

Program commenced in 2008.

Secondary schools across Australia to apply for funding of between $500,000 and $1.5 million

Funding is to build or upgrade metal, woodwork, automotive, building and construction, electrotechnology and other trade workshops for secondary school students. Funding will extend to technical facilities such as commercial cookery and hairdressing facilities

A three storey Building that will be located on the Frankston Chisholm site.

The Board of Management

The Operations Group

1. Builder has been appointed Completion expected mid 2014

2. The START Board will soon finalise a Joint Use Agreement

3. In Term 4 this year it is hoped that a part-time ‘START TTC’ facilitator will be employed.

4. The START Operations Group has developed a draft timetable for implementation in 2014

Middle School ProgramsThere is planning for at least one full day

per week set aside for programs focused on Year 9 and 10 students.

There is the opportunity to devise some innovative ideas that will meet the needs of this cohort and provide them with new opportunities.

The onus is on each of the 13 schools to come up with suggestions.
