• MRC is a partner program conducted by United State Public Health Service (USPHS – Surgeon Generals Office)

– Citizens Corps (National homeland security)

– Senior Corps – Peace Corps

• To recruit, train, coordinate and mobilize a competent medical and logistical support unit to augment existing emergency management and public health infrastructure during a natural or man-made disaster in Tooele County.

• MRC goal:– Improve and augment public

health/medical emergency preparedness programs.

– Improve health literacy– Increase disease prevention

• MRC units include:– Medical professionals

• Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, Dentists, Vets, Epidemiologists

– Public Health Professionals– Community Members

• Interpreters, chaplains, office and support staff, legal advisors, etc
