THE PROBLEM OF
TOLERANCE
The problem of tolerance is one of the
biggest problems of our times.
TOLERANCE is allowing somebody
else to have their opinions, likes and
beliefs. Tolerance also means accepting
somebody else’s behaviour.
Very often we can see that some people
don’t respect others because of their
clothes, life style, appearance or behavior.
It happens almost everywhere: at school, at
work, on the streets or in the shops. A group
of people usually talk about another person
in bad words.
The reason for such behaviour is usually
very simple and banal. A small imperfection
is enough and people don’t notice this
person, don’t talk with him, they even don’t
want to be in the nearest neighbourhood.
Even people who claim that they are
tolerant sometimes act in a completely
different manner.
No tolerance for faith has it’s roots already
in ancient times. Today, despite the fact that
this is a problem somewhat lesser
importance, however, there are cases of
ridicule and disrespect of religious values.
Understanding in our world are not even
Jehovah's Witnesses and Muslims.
No tolerance can be observed also in
our homes. This applies mainly to
parents of teenage children. Intervening
in their love lives and choices of future
competition is a lack of trust and
respect for their decision. Often parents
decide who the young man is to be in
the future, for which university to go,
who to tie.
The Civil War broke out in North America
because of a difference of opinion about
people with dark skin. The idea was that
they were slaves, servants to their masters,
without their own opinion, quietly and
humbly performing his job. No respect titer
nor to the life or the assets
The Second World War broke out for the
same reason. Adolf Hitler did not show an
ounce of tolerance towards not only other
countries, but also to their friends. The
extermination of the Jews is the best
example.
