Race 2 XXXX GOLD MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres:
Enchanted Island Jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped Barely A Minute.
Barely A Minute Bumped at the start
Eco Road Slow to begin. Rider Brian Higgins reported the gelding, which was first up from a
spell, was left flat footed over the shorter journey.
Miss Jamaica Hung in for the majority of the straight. Rider Matthew Allen reported that the
mare travelled well, however, when placed under pressure on straightening lay in and after
the race was blowing significantly. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any

Jamaica.
Race 3 SCHWEPPES 3YO MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres:
Chapel Road Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Apprentice Michael Dee reported

the late arrival. Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival on course and was passed
suitable to race. Underwent a further veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers after
brushing the fence leaving the mounting yard and was also resaddled. A post race veterinary
examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.
Elegant Queen Resaddled on arrival at the barriers.
Sagabella When over-racing had to be checked near the 900 metres off the heels of Bold
Eavey, which was taken in off its course by What Girls Want, which when racing fiercely in
the early stages, shifted to the inside of Scandimania (Matthew Allen), which was shifting in.
M Allen was reprimanded and notified to exercise care when shifting ground in future. In
accessing penalty Stewards believed the racing manners of What Girls Want, contributed to
the incident. Rider Brian Higgins reported the mare over raced for most of the event and as a
result did not finish the race off. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any
obvious abnormality.
Race 5 JJ RICHARDS MAIDEN PLATE - 1600 metres:
The start of the race was delayed due to the near side bubble cheeker on Tynong Rocket

Tynong Rocket When questioned in relation to the riding tactics adopted today, trainer Tom
Scanlon explained that it had been his intention to ride further forward at its recent starts over
1200 metres, however, the gelding had struggled to do so. Mr Scanlon further explained that
with the step up in distance to 1600 metres today Tynong Rocket did race further forward,
however, he was not expecting the gelding to sit outside the leader. Mr Scanlon was advised
of his obligations that any intended change in riding tactics must be reported to Stewards.

Theycallmethehoff Raced wide without cover throughout. When asked to explained the
tactics today apprentice Juana Andreou explained that she was instructed to ride her mount
wider in the field as the gelding does not appreciate being close to other runners. She further
explained that she was reluctant to shift closer to the rail rounding the home turn as she was
not sufficiently clear of Captain Kittinger and was mindful of causing interference to that
runner.
Honour System Apprentice Jordan Grob reported the mare did not feel right in its action. A
post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality. Jordan Grob was
severely reprimanded for his use of the whip on a horse when out of contention. In assessing
