Galetech Energy Services offers a bespoke full noise measurement and analysis service. We use state of the art Type 1 environmental noise monitoring equipment to correlate noise data with wind speed and direction information from the on on-site mast. GES owns and operates IEC 60651 Type 1 sound level meters equipped with outdoor kits and double wind shields and 10m weather stations.

Galetech Energy Services has a full in-house environmental noise assessment service frombackground noise surveys through to EIS chapter preparation, local authority compliance, representation at oral hearings and post-completion environmental noise testing. Along with the site design team we can optimise the layout of a site with respect to noise. Our noise team is trained by the UK Institute of Acoustics and follows the “Good Practice Guide” in relation to the user of ETSU-R- 97, on which the Irish regulations are based.

With experience in noise studies for wind farms in Ireland and internationally, our noise prediction models perform noise propagation calculations to ISO 9613 Acoustics - Attenuation of sound during propagation outdoors.

Galetech Energy Services offers a full and comprehensive site photomontage services for both Wind and Solar developments.

Zones of Theoretical Visibility are calculated based on turbine dimensions or solar park layout and local topography. Elevation contours are fed into a computer model which then calculates the areas where the proposed project will be theoretically visible.

We create photomontages from the selected viewpoints. This includes a photographic survey during favorable weather conditions during which panoramic photo is taken towards the proposed wind farm or solar park position. This is imported this into our software together with terrain data to generate a photo-realistic images of the appearance of the proposed development. This will demonstrate to councils, residents and community groups what the project will look like once constructed.

All photomontages and Zone of Theoretical Visibility maps are prepared in line the requirements set out in the Scottish Natural Heritage Visual representation of wind farm: Best Practice Guidelines (2014)
