Ilgūnaitienė Short course description: The course is aimed at improving students’ English language grammar and communication skills at C1 level. The course includes: present and past tenses, auxiliary, modal, state and action verbs, formation of questions, conditional clauses, emphatic structures, connectives, infinitive and gerund constructions. The form of studies is blended learning: classes, seminars, individual work, work in interactive Moodle environment (synchronous/ asynchronous consultations, discussion forums, individual work applying theoretical material in practice). Course content: Present, Past and Future tenses; Continuous and Perfect aspects; Modality of verbs; Adjectives of the English language; Linkers; Subordinate clauses of all types; Infinitive, Gerund and Participial constructions; Emphatic constructions: inversion, fronting, cleft sentences; Future forms with – to be; Future – in the – Past; Passive voice, Passive causative constructions ; Education and employment; International relations; Health and care; Fashion and consumerism; Modern technologies; Journalism and media; Law and society. Grading and evaluating student work in class and/or at the final exam: Midterm - 20 %, final test - 30%, class work - 50 %.
