But there’s something undeni- ably satisfying about reach- ing the 10-title milestone. Rash, at age 34, became the 51st player to enter the 10-win club by beating an- other 10-time winner Wes Malott of Pflugerville, Texas, 259-195, in the championship match of the PBA Badger Open at Thun- derbowl Lanes. The finals Sean Rash Wins PBA Badger Open for Milestone 10th Career Title Rash defeats fellow 10-time winner Wes Malott, 259-195, for first title of the season for the third tournament of the PBA Fall Swing aired Wednesday on the CBS Sports Network. Rash took an early lead that he never relinquished, striking in the first four frames and failing to strike in only the fifth and seventh frames. Malott, who was trying for his first title since winning the 2015 Roth/ Holman Doubles with part- ner Norm Duke in March 2015, struggled to find the pocket until throwing a strike in the fourth frame. “It seemed like a long time ago that I got my first win (West Virginia Cham- pionship in 2005-06), but I’m hoping I can get the next 10 a little quicker,” said Rash. “I knew it would be just a matter of time. You just have to keep knocking on the door until it opens and it opened today.” Rash also had to deal with the effects of a hand injury that has bothered him for nearly a year but through various therapies plus changing the grip lay- out on his ball, he has been able to minimize the pain. “I’ve tried everything – doctor, chiropractor, mas- sage therapy, ice, you name it. I’ve got it to where it’s manageable and doesn’t have an obvious effect on my bowling. Overall, I’m working out to get in bet- ter shape, but as far as my hand is concerned, the key is to reduce the pressure on my hand. As you get older I guess things are going to happen.” Rash, the No. 2 quali- fier, advance to the title championship by beat- ing young Canadian Gra- ham Fach, 224-205, in the semifinal. That’s what many Southern California bowl- ers were asking when they learned that Black Oak Lanes in Tuolumne would serve as the host for the 2016 California State sin- gles championships on Oct. 15-16. Tuolumne (pronounced too-AH-lum-ee) is a small town of less than 2,000 in the Northern California foothills. It’s eight miles east of Sonora and about an hour and 15 minutes away from Stockton. It’s a demanding drive from the Southland with a Black Oak Lanes spokes- man estimating that it could take up to eight hours from L.A. The distance is likely to put a damper on the number of participants, although elite bowler Mi- chelle Silver of West L.A. has indicated that she plans to make the trek to defend her title in the women’s 50- 54 senior singles handicap division. Silver shared the spot- light in last year’s tourna- ment with Gabriel Ramirez of Monterey Park, who won the men’s prestigious 176-and-higher handicap division. While Silver bowled her 20th perfect game in last year’s event, Ramirez rolled his first 300. Ramirez averaged a blistering 238.8 for his six-game set, more than 50 pins above his average. Ramirez, however, is not expected to take part in this year’s event. Black Oak Lanes, often tabbed for ma- jor bowling tournaments, is located in the 24-hour Black Oak Casino. WINNETKA — For someone who’s bowled about 50 years in leagues, Art Rosenberg didn’t expect his most memorable achievement in the sport to come at age 65.

But on Oct. 13, 2015, Art turned in a performance at Winnetka Bowl that was absolutely striking – and unex-pected.

Art blasted a 256 game in a 646 series that far outshined his previous honor scores of 300 and 297 that he achieved in 1997 at Corbin Bowl.

What made Art’s 256 so special?

Art used a newly developed no-step approach where he just planted himself on the line and powered his trademark right-handed hook into the pocket. This radical move came out of necessity because of Art’s arthritic left knee that sidetracked his five-step approach.

“When you walk up to the line, it’s totally different from standing,” said Art, who was able to continue bowling with fiancé Debbie Prince.

“It was very difficult to control the ball and keep it on the lane. Then all of a sudden, it clicked. I finally got the concept of what to do and how to do it.”

Dustin Markowitz, a top bowler and co-host of the rapidly expanding Bowling Evolved website, said what Art achieved was “nothing short of fantastic. He found a way to succeed and still compete in his sport with an injury be-cause of the modifications he made.

“In 25 years of bowling, one thing stands out. Bowlers who love to compete find a way to compete because of the love of the game. It doesn’t matter how old you are and how broken you are, the heart of a champion lives on forever.”

That Art would be able to formulate a winning style and then apply it shouldn’t have come as a huge surprise. A former assistant manager at now-defunct Rocket Bowl in Chatsworth, Art is a certified bowling instructor.

And he made good use of his knowledge.

“To me, [the no-step] was just another adaptation that I’ve done,” said Art, who racked up a powerful 752 series in 2002. “I started out with four steps and then went to five steps. I felt my extra step would result in better timing.”

Now Art faces another challenge.

He hasn’t bowled in about six months because of a severed tendon in the arch of his right foot. It’s caused him a lot of pain and he’s facing surgery in an effort to repair the injury.

Despite being out of the game for a half-year, Art attends his league’s weekly sessions and cheers on his fiancé . He remains optimistic and good-natured. He’s overcome injuries before and he hopes he gets the opportunity to do it again.

“I really would like to go back on the lane,” said Art, a Canoga Park resident. “It’s gnawing at me.”

Still, Art allowed that the decision as to whether he returns or not will rest with his doctor after his surgery.

“I would really like to get back,” he said. “If I can’t stand up, I’ll try to figure out another way of doing it. If I have to sit in a wheelchair and take off the armrests, I’ll do it.”

Art has already been somewhat of a role model. One of the bowlers in his “Guys and Dolls” league, Karen Beeler, copied Art’s no-step approach after she recovered from an injury. She witnessed the success Art enjoyed with the no-step approach and has found her own success.

Says Art: “All you have to do is be somewhat accurate and that’s pretty much what you’re striving for.”

International Field Set for 2017 DHC PBA Japan Invitational in Osaka

The field of 16 international players for the 2017 DHC PBA Japan Invitational has been confirmed, based on qualifying during the PBA Fall Swing in Allen Park, Mich., and other criteria.

Earning berths based on their performances in the Fall Swing were Sean Rash, Jason Belmonte, E.J. Tackett, Tom Daugherty, Wes Malott, Jesper Svensson, Josh Blanchard, Rhino Page and Kristopher Prather. Jason Sterner, as first alternate, will travel to Japan in place of qualifier Francois Lavoie, who will be unable to participate. Likewise, Dani-elle McEwan will replace top women’s qualifier Rocio Restrepo, who has a scheduling conflict.

PBA Hall of Famer Amleto Monacelli will return as defending champion. DHC, as titled sponsor, has selected Dom Barrett, Tommy Jones and Chris Barnes as its special invitees. Six-time Korea PBA titlist Choi Won Young will represent Korea. If any of the male players above can’t make the trip, John Szczerbinski is now first alternate.

The 2017 special event in Japan also will include a field of 16 top Japanese players in a 32-player, round-robin tournament scheduled for January 11-14. The tournament will be held in Osaka – four hours south of Tokyo – at Bentencho Grandbowl. The winner will earn a projected $40,000 first prize and a PBA Tour title (if he/she is a member).

FULLERTON – John Camisa bowled lights out in the Semifinals to become top seed in the top 16 Sin-gle Elim Roll-offs and won his 1st ABTA title taking home $600 as he downed upstart Dom Laguardia in the title game to take home the title to his wife Norma, an ABTA Supporter for sure!!

The qualifying cut scores were Men +90 and Women +52. Top qualifi-ers to receive a paid entry to any regular tournament were Dom Laguardia +188 and for the ladies Yvette Lloyd +132. Super Seniors added, two men and one woman, Bert Pamuntuan +72, Mike Moore +65 and Linda Serrabia +13.

the floor. The final cut was Men +47 and Women +43. Bowling very well (lights out) in the semis was John Camisa who won the first two side pots and delighted the field with +209 taking the #1 spot. As top seed he would sit out the finals til the title game. Edmond Del Mundo was runner-up +162 and he would receive a first round bye, entering in round two of the single eliminations.

First round losers, plac-ing 10-16th, Val Wise, Lito Dizon, Bert Pamintuan Yvette Lloyd, Sierrie Her-radura, Stan Por and Mi-chael Suarez for $100 each.

In 6-9th Pedro Cintron, Tres Catalasan, Edmond Del Mundo, and Steve Brode $102.50 each.

In 4-5th Mike Moore and Linda Serrabia $110 each.

Dom La Guardia won in a very close match vs Parker Wise for the right to face the top qualifier, John Camisa. Dom paid $40 as the horse to his faithful bet-tors.

The championship match went underway with Dom leading off and in a sour way he opened in fact his first three frames. Camisa had strike, spare and two opens and a spare in the 5th and he led well as Dom strike, spare and began his nightmare with 3 more opens through the 8th frame.

Camisa then was clean in the final 6 frames and won handily in a 184/229

to Dom at 115/152 and the title went to the gentleman from Aliso Viejo and de-servedly so. John is surely One of the Good Guys. It is nice to see him win his first ABTA title.

Nice bowling by La-guardia til that final game.

He is a past Champion and another very nice man. Per-haps he would have bowled much better if his pretty wife Zeny were there.

A slimmed down Parker Wise did very well in 3rd place at Carter.

John Camisa hails from Aliso Viejo, and used his Brunswick Brute drilled by ABTA supporter, a Good Guy Jeff Carr at Forest Lanes.

Dom Laguardia is from El Monte and married to Zeny. He used a Dream On drilled by Memo Ro-sales at Chaparral Lanes. They have two very pretty daughters.

Parker Wise is from Riv-erside and his father Val is a 5 time ABTA champion. He used a Black Widow drilled by Buddy Lucas.

Parker is single with a girlfriend Ashley who was on hand at Carter. He used a Dream On drilled by ABTA member Memo Rosales at Chaparral Lanes.

This Saturday we visit Bowlium Lanes in Mont-

clair. Qualify 1:30 - 2:45 - 4:15 & 6:00 with Semi Finals to follow. The 3-6-9 Roll-off is at 7:45PM, with the top 16 bowlers to the Single Elim Finals follow-ing at 8:00PM. All Semifi-nalists will cash.

It was so great to return to Carter Lanes. This center is very nice and has a top notch GM in John Smith who is an ABTA Mem-ber and friend for years. Thanks for the hospitality. We will return soon.

Camisa is the Champion at Carter Lanes - Laguardia is Runner-Up $500. Wise 3rd $200. John Camisa led from start to finish to win his first ABTA title in fine style at Super Carter Lanes. He won from the top seeded position to down Dom Laguardia in the title game. He won with the popular reduced entry fee and took home $600. (Left to Right) Greg K. ABTA Director, Dom La-guardia (runner up) $500, Champion John Camisa who entered in our reduced entry special won $600, Carter representative Alex Madriaga and Steve Brode 7th. It was great to return to Carter who has one for the finest General Managers in the circuit in John Smith.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CHAMPIONS!The chemistry really matched when these two gentle-

men teamed up as doubles partners in the Roaring 90’s Summer Scratch League at Gable House Bowl. They took over first place and proved tough to catch.

Ron Kelbaugh (on the left) has only been bowling for less than 5 years and his first endeavor to participate in a scratch league was when we joined the Roaring 90’s. He finished the season with a high game of 222; high series of 602 and a 158 average for 99 games.

Alton Arnold III, Ron’s partner (and I’m sure, his men-tor) was introduced to bowling in 1977 at age seven. He has mastered the game to such a degree, he has on record numerous high game and high series Honor Scores. From the 96 games bowled in this season, Alton scored a high game of 268; high series of 703; and a 202 average.

Phyl Knoll, Secretary-Treasurer, Roaring 90’s League

Competition causes all athletes to feel pressure; bowlers included. Because ours is such a physically and mentally challenging sport, dealing with it is absolutely necessary.

Doing so begins with understanding what it is and what it is not. Professional golfer, Lee Trevino, may have summed it up best when asked how he dealt with the pressure of putting on national TV, when the difference between making, or not making a putt, was $20,000. His response was a classic: ‘Putting for $20,000 in prize money isn’t pressure. Pressure is betting $10.00 on making a putt, knowing you don’t have a dime in your pocket!’

Peyton Manning put it another way: “Pressure is something you feel when you don’t know what the hell you’re doing”. That’s hard to argue with, too. It boils down to this: Situations don’t cause pressure; what you tell yourself about the situation is what causes pressure.

American philosopher, William James, offered this gem for dealing with it: “The greatest weapon against stress (AKA pressure) is our ability to choose one thought over another”. BINGO!!! Here are a few examples of pressure-creating thoughts you should choose to avoid:

- If I throw a strike, I’ll have a 200 game!- Rats!!! I’m not going to hit my average!- I hate that team! We’ve got to beat them this time! These considerations are all self-destructive. Keeping track of meaningless distrac-

tions serves no useful purpose to your physical game. In fact, doing so makes you the best bowler for your opponent’s team. This kind of thinking causes muscle tension that results in poor performances at the worst possible time - it’s called “choking”. It’s thoughts like those that define the athletes to whom Mr. Manning was referring.

Here are some examples of brainwork that alleviate pressure:- I need more speed on the ball. I’ll hold it higher in my stance.- Lane #11 is hooking a bit more than #12. I’ll try moving my stance 2 boards farther

left on #11- I’m rushing my delivery. I need to take a deep breath before my first step.- I was off-balance on that last shot. I need to focus on keeping my arm-swing closer

to my body.I hope you get the idea. The first bowler focused on game situations, the second on

technique. Which one do you think knew what he/she was doing? Which one felt more pressure? Which one would you prefer to have on your team? Remember, your great-est weapon against pressure is your ability to choose one thought over another. Choose wisely and you’ll enjoy this game like never before.

The Australian two-handed star, who also will be trying for his 13th career title, fin-ished the 36-game Detroit Open qualifying phase by averaging a combined 229.9 for 12 games each on the PBA’s Wolf, Bear and Badger lane conditions at Thunderbowl Lanes in suburban Detroit.

In his two previous Fall Swing television appearances, he finished third in the Wolf Open and fourth in the Badger Open.

JIMMY SCHMITZER Updateby Frank and Therese Weiler

LAS VEGAS — Jimmy Schmitzer, CALIFORNIA bowling legend, is alive and well in Las Vegas. He is a na-tive “CALIFORNIAN” who loved it here but had to leave for work. Job opportunities were better across the border so Jimmy moved three years ago.

He is currently employed at the South Point Bowling Plaza and works as a lane man and apprentice mechanic. He loves his work, he loves the people he works for and loves the people he works with. He is a happy man right now and looks forward to the years ahead.

When bowling in CALIFORNIA Jimmy earned a repu-tation for being a clutch bowler with nerves of steel on the lanes. He was and still is only the second “CALIFOR-NIAN” to roll a certified 900 series (VINCE WOOD being the first). Observers have told us that he rolled that perfect series without any hesitation or nerves.

Bowling wise Jimmy is doing very well in the “Silver State”. His book averages for 2014-15 and 2015-16 were 240 and 241. Last season’s 241 was rolled at the Orleans Bowling Center in a league in which he rolled five 800s with a high of 836. He also had five 300s in that league. Not bad!

By the way, Jimmy was our teammate in the last Mili-tary Tournament in August and he averaged over 240 scratch to lead our team.

Every time we are in Vegas we visit our friends, the Schmitzer family. Jimmy and his parents (dad Jim and mom Marti). They are some of the nicest people in the world. They are always gracious and Marti always has the biggest and brightest smile in the world when she sees us.

We are lucky to have the Schmitzer family as our friends and are happy to tell their CALIFORNIA friends that they are all doing well and that Jimmy is bowling bet-ter than ever.

2017 PBA League Draft Set for November 2 in Las VegasFifth season of PBA team competition returns to “new” Bayside Bowl in Maine in April

CHICAGO – The Dallas Strikers will begin defense of their PBA League Elias Cup championship knowing the core of its team is intact, as player/manager Norm Duke made sure reigning League Mark Roth MVP Tommy Jones, Bill O’Neill and himself will be back when the fifth annual PBAL season returns to the newly-reconstructed Bayside Bowl in Portland, Maine, in April.

All eight teams named the three players they were allowed to protect from their 2016 five-player rosters on Tuesday. The two Strikers who also played critical roles in the team’s success last year left unprotected were Shawn Maldo-

nado and B.J. Moore. Those two plus the other unprotected players from 2016 rosters will be placed into the PBAL Draft pool, and will be joined by other PBA members who declare themselves eligible for the Draft by Oct. 11. The Draft will be covered live on Xtra Frame from South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Nov. 2, where the teams will be filled out after two rounds of selections.

Players protected by their respective team managers include:● Dallas Strikers (player-manager Norm Duke): Norm Duke, Tommy Jones, Bill O’Neill.● NYC WTT KingPins (manager Carolyn Dorin-Ballard): Pete Weber, Marshall Kent, John Szczerbinski.● Motown Muscle (manager Del Ballard Jr.): EJ Tackett, Anthony Simonsen, Josh Blanchard.● Portland Lumberjacks (manager Tim Mack): Wes Malott, Ryan Ciminelli, Liz Johnson.● Silver Lake Atom Splitters (manager Mark Baker): Chris Barnes, Tom Daugherty, Jesper Svensson.● Brooklyn Styles (manager Johnny Petraglia): Sean Rash, Parker Bohn III, Walter Ray Williams Jr.● L.A. X (manager Andrew Cain): Jason Belmonte, Stuart Williams, Martin Larsen.● Philadelphia Hitmen (manager Jason Couch): Dom Barrett; Tom Smallwood; Chris Loschetter.Like Maldonado and Moore, other players who were members of 2016 teams, but not protected, will be eligible to

re-apply for the 2017 draft. Those players include Jason Sterner, Jon Van Hees, Matt McNiel, Dick Allen, Rhino Page, Dave Wodka, Osku Palermaa, Bryon Smith, Scott Norton, Mike Fagan, Andres Gomez, Patrick Allen, Ronnie Russell, and Danielle McEwan.

The PBA League draft, which will be covered live by PBA’s Xtra Frame online video-streaming service, will be con-ducted at the conclusion of the PBA Fall Classic presented by South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas. Team managers will draft in reverse order of where they finished in 2016, meaning the defending champion Dallas Strikers will draft last and the eighth-place Philadelphia Hitmen will have the first pick. The draft order, following Philadelphia, will be L.A. DOWNEY — With two weeks remaining in the first round of the Brunswick Invitational, it is anybody’s round to win, as five teams are within five games of first place. And, with each week being a position round, nobody is looking at a soft draw to coast to the win. Each of those teams will be bowling another team with just as much as stake as the round winds down to conclusion.

The first pair of lanes next week will be a rematch from week #4. Team #17 battled Century 21—My Real Estate, pulling out a very close 3-2 win. The two wins kept Century 21 in the second position on the league sheet, earning them the rematch. The first game was all Team #17, with a very balanced 919 game. Nobody was over 235, nobody was lower than 224. Century 21 got a 279 game from Joe Jimenez, who had virtually no help in that game. Century 21 got it together, winning the next two games, but came up ten pins short for totals, costing them a chance to move into first place. Joe Jimenez led the pair with 712, followed by Mike Cammarata with 700. Team #17 stayed balanced all night, as Buddy Lucas led the team with 679, while their low man was 664.

The second pair was a match between Team #12 and Linder’s Insurance. Both teams came in with 14 wins through the first four weeks. Linder’s Insurance struck first, with a 908 game to take the early lead, behind Keith Williams 254. Team #12 won the second game by 15 pins, with Kevin Gagnon’s 258 leading the way. Linder’s rebounded to win game #3, and take the match, 4-1. Linder’s moves up to 3rd place with their 18 wins. Jeremy Glover led the pair team with 684. Kevin Gagnon had 752 for Team #12 in defeat.

Team #20 rebounded from a tough match last week to take four out of five from DV8. DV8 started quickly with a 918 game, led by Kevin Valmonte’s 244. Team #20 came back to take the next two games, and totals, for the 4-1 victory. Nick Rodriguez had a huge set for #20, with 246-267-236/749. Daryl McCloud was right behind him with 247-258-236/741. Kevin Valmonte shot 701 for DV8 in the losing effort.

Team #10 continued their climb to contention, getting to 16 wins, with their sweep of the Professional Approach. None of the games were close in this match, as Team #10 won totals by over 300 pins. A.J. Sabet led the way from Team #10 with a 258/724 series. Ryan Tsu added a 255/700 as well. Billy Myers Jr. led the Professional Ap-

proach team with 645.Threadworks moves up to 14 wins after beating Cal Bowl, 4-1. Paul

Varela led Threadworks, with a very steady 684 series. Ramon Torres broke 700 for Cal Bowl, shooting a 258/701 series.

Keystone Lanes took four out of five from Forest Lanes, also moving up to 14 wins. Jonathan Huff, of Keystone Lanes led the pair with a very nice 258-255-228/741 series. Herbert Jones added 712 for Keystone as well. Gip Lentine was the top scorer for Forest Lanes with 258/685.

Sysco joins several other teams with 14 wins, following their sweep of Team #9, who had a very off night. Paul Barraco led the pair, shooting 267/712, while subs Juan Camarena and Sam Hitchcock added in 690’s.

Team #16 won their match against Team #3, four games to one. Gary Duran was the top shooter for Team #16, posting a 265-223-246/734 set. Nacho Vega helped out with a 265/701. For Team #3, it was Matt Schermerhorn leading the way. Matt had a 237-259-238/734 set, to tie Gary for tops on the pair.

J.A.T. took all five games from Gym W.R.A.T.T. Fitness, with only the middle game being competitive. Anthony Santos topped the pair, shooting 259-216-267/742. David Yamauchi added 702 for J.A.T. Jef-fery Brown was high in defeat for Gym W.R.A.T.T., shooting 279/657.

On the final pair of lanes, in the battle of liquor sponsors, Snirnoff took only one game from Crown Royal, but won it by enough to take totals as well, giving them a 3-2 win in the match. Arnold Cheesman led the pair with 256/715. He narrowly beat out Johnny Sikkens of Crown Royal who tossed a 714 set, including a perfect 300 in game #2. Great shooting, Johnny. Congratulations!

Anthony Santos won the first sidepot, with a 259 game. Nick Ro-driguez won the Super Pot in game #2 with his 267 game for $216. Anthony Santos came back strong to win the third game pot as well with 267. That score for Anthony also won him the Financial Advisors Pot, for $200. Kevin Gagnon and Herbert Jones tied for 2nd with 259, splitting $100 in the tie.

The first round is quickly coming to an end. Bowlers, don’t forget that we’ll be collecting for doubles next week for our End of Round Sweeper that will have $1500 in added money. Come down and see the action, as the scores are fun and the competition is heating up with only two weeks to go in the round.

DOWNEY — It wasn’t pretty, but it was enough as Threadworks moved into 1st place in Round 5 by sweep-ing past The Professional Approach 5-0. The US Open pat-tern was playing especially tough tonight as most teams struggled. Paul Varela led the charge to the top, as he fired a very nice 604 series to lead the sweep. Danny Ly led Power House Video Games to a sweep of their own, as they took down Blizz Yogurt 5-0. Danny shot 625, while Greg Neuer led Blizz with 581. Team DV8 is once again in contention for the round lead, as Sam Hitchcock winged his way to 242/623 and led DV8 to a 4-1 win over Linder Insurance.

Linder was paced by Kurt Arakaki 592 and Kevin Val-monte 591. In the best scoring match of the night, Pino’s Pizza prevailed 3-2 as they held off Alhambra Coin Center to win Team Totals by 13. Both teams bowled well, finishing as #1 and #2 scoring teams for the night, and their pair was 250 pins higher than any other two teams combined scoring for a pair. Leading the way for Pino’s was Ramon Torres 627 & Leonard Ruiz 600, while Alhambra was led by Doug Kempt 660 & Steve Gaucin 608. Herzog Insurance took a 4-1 win over the PJ-less Los Altos Trophies team as Mikey Villarreal shot 625 for the winners, while Top Dog for the night went to Los Altos’ Buddy Lucas with a very fine 670.

In the roll off team matches, it was Erickson Foods once again losing the first two games, only to come back strong in Game 3 and not only win the game, but Team Totals. Er-ickson pulls within 2.5 games of holding the #1 seed with the 3-2 win, as nobody managed to shoot 600 series, Herbert

Jones led the way for Keystone Lanes with 589, while Jason Buenviaje shot 563 for Ericksons. Charlie Kinstler shot 614 to lead SYSCO to a 5-0 sweep of Forest Lanes who strug-gled all night to catch SYSCO. Mason Man O’Lantern Sher-man topped Forest with 589. American Harvest Vodka out shot CASAMIGO’S Tequila and won 4-1 as Kevin Jones rolled 588, while Vernon Adams topped the Tequila team with 565. Mike Jennings shot 594 to lead Tifco Industries to a 4-1 win over BOWLIUM, who had the pair’s high series, Craig Stevens with 623. Matt Mosley powered his way to 255 & 638 to lead Cook’s Bowling Supply to a 5-0 sweep over J.A.T. DeeRonn Booker led the Junior Amateur Tour team with 549. In the final pairing, it was GJC Services win-ning 3 points as Juan Zavala topped his squad with 511.

Sidepot winners were Game 1 – Sam Hitchcock 242 Game 2 –Jason Buenviaje 226 however the Financial Advi-sor’s pot was won by Buddy Lucas 225 for $240 with Leon-ard Ruiz Jr. 2nd place with 223 for $100. Game 3 Super Pot went to Mikey Villarreal 255, quite the contrast from last week where you needed 11 strikes or more to win. The TRUE ANCHOR award goes to a new winner, Barry Couch Jr. collected the honors with a 3 game set of 361.

One more week on the dreaded US Open shot to try and move into the Round Lead, improve your standing, or move up the ladder in the Roll Off seedings. I’m sure most can’t wait for May to get here, since we will be finished with this pattern. Hope to see you all down at Del Rio next Monday in Downey. Have a blessed week everyone!
