Mr. Goulet,

Thanks for all your help on this project! This has been a fun project. I've spoken with the

Chief of Staff and he's hot to get on this mission ASAP. Although they didn't pick my favorite,

we've decided to go with a modification of the patch I've attached (Dark brown base, sand colored square with Desert Eagle

patch). We want to make the following modifications:

1. Eliminate the "tick" mark on top of the square. No tick. Sad, but true. 2. Shrink the dark brown border to a uniform width around all sides of the patch.

We want the border to be thinner than it is on the sample (about half the distance).

Same distance as is on the bottom edge of the pictured sample all the way around.

Hope my modification instructions are clear. If not I'll clarify. Can you quote me a price per

patch based on an initial purchase of 1200 (600 pairs)? We'll be placing a second order for

more desert patches soon and an initial of woodland in the next few months as we prepare

to return home. We want to use an impact credit card. I've been told: "CPT Page, you can't

get this done fast enough!" Need to wrap this up as soon a possible.

Thanks again,

The helmet patch is being made as we speak to the new specification.

I will try and keep them in stock for the Division. I will stock

1200 so they can be shipped at a moment's notice (the day they are needed).

I told John the price would be $1.25 for each of the helmet patches.

Would you like me to give the patches to G-3 or mail them?

The US Post Office takes 3 weeks.

Yes we do take impact credit cards and you can pay for them any time you like.

The total will be 1200 X $1.25 = $1,500.00.

Albert,

Hold the phone!!! I hope you haven't started making the patches already. I suspect you've already completed this mission by

now, though. The CG has changed his mind on the patch design and wants to go with one of the other sample designs after

seeing the sample patches you sent (they just got here today). Let me know what you think or if it’s too late. Thanks for

everything. Sorry about this.

Subject: I think we're ready now...

Mr. Goulet,

Thanks for your patience. Once he saw the actual samples, the old man decided against the original he liked in favor of

another. I should have realized this and been patient. The one attached is what we want; of course, there are a few

modifications:

1. Based on the size of the patch, it’s a little too large and will probably get covered up by the helmet band once sewn on. We'd

like to reduce the size of the patch overall. Do this; please reduce the size of the dark brown, inner square to 1.75"x 1.75".

2. Shorten the tick mark's height by one third.

3. Shrink the patches outer, light brown border. We'd like the border to be the same width on each side as it is on the bottom

edge. In other words, the bottom edge width (as it is right now) on left, right and bottom edges. Please reduce the top margin

correspondingly to the "tick" mark's new, adjusted height leaving a slightly narrower border. We realize this will make the

patch slightly taller than it is wide (not exactly square); that's okay.

4. My purchasing guy will contact you this afternoon with credit card information. They don't want me to have the number;

guess their afraid I'll buy a new car on the government's dime! Please shoot me an image of the new patch when you get a

chance.

5. We still want 600 pairs (1200 single patches); no change.

You guys have been great. This has been frustrating, but a lot of fun. Glad EOW was involved; can't imagine trying to do this

with a local guy. Thanks for everything,

Good morning from Clarksville Tennessee,

Glad you like the patches. Yes I can have them change the patch but the center (Spice Brown) must be at this size, the 101st

Airborne patch cannot be made smaller (if made smaller the Airborne would not look correct). The tick or the khaki color

around the tick can be changed. Please let me know your thoughts.

Albert,

Here we go again. DCSM Hill said he doesn't like the patch the Chief of Staff approved.

We want to make yet another change: Go back to the narrow spice background

(same around all edges), sand square, no tick mark, with super-imposed desert

101st patch. Of course, we'll buy any patches you've already made, just send them

to me with the now approved design. Very embarrassing; I apologize for any problems.

Don't know if you drink or not, but I owe you a couple.

Thanks again,
