Respect A topic that seems to come up in fifth grade this time of year is
bullying. When we are discussing bullying with students, we define it as “unwanted behavior that involves a victim and a bully. The
behavior is repeated over time.” Students sometimes struggle to differ between bullying and “school drama”.
We are working hard to encourage students to advocate for themselves and others in a bullying situations or in “school drama” situations. Through our lessons on respect during CREW this nine weeks, we hope to promote advocacy within students as the deal
with their peers. We encourage students to be open with teachers, staff, and parents about any situation where they feel
respect is lost.
“We are CREW, not passengers.”
