This presentation is about the Western Region of the United States. This region consists of 13 states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming, as defined by the Census Bureau. They are divided into two smaller units: Mountain and Pacific States.

Climate: all four seasons are cooler than any state. Capital: Sacramento Natural resources: Wind, water (rivers, streams, etc.), hydropower, grasses and solar. Landforms: Mountains, valleys, deserts, plains, and lakes. Climate: Coast line-mild fall and spring, hot summers. The desert is hot during the day and cold at night. The Sierra Nevada Mountains-it is cold. The Central Valley is hot and humid. Industries: Farming, electronics, vehicles and movies. Interesting facts: It has many large fault lines, the highest point is Mt. Whitney at 14,494 ft. and the lowest point is Death Valley at -282 ft.

Capital: Honolulu Natural resources: Agriculture. Landforms: Mountain valleys, volcanoes, sea cliffs, and canyons. Climate: Mild temperatures throughout the year, moderate humidity, persistence of northeasterly trade winds, significant differences in rainfall within short distances, and infrequent severe storms. Industries: Tourism and agriculture. Interesting Facts: The only state surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on all sides.

Interesting facts: It has five major volcanoes. The state fruit is the Apple.
