MERRY CHRISTMAS!As Andy Williams sang, Its the most wonderful time of the year and we cant quite believe its here already. For TheStore, its been a busy one, full of events, award recognition and new initiatives.

We kicked off 2012 with National Farmhouse Breakfast Week, hosting workshops for local children including making everything from smoothies to sausages, milling oats and creating their own muesli. The successful sessions culminated in the launch of our own Super Sausage (a unique blend of pork, oats and honey all from local suppliers) at this years Taste of Grampian.

February was Oscar month, not quite Hollywood, but known as the Rural Oscars, and just as prestigious in our eyes, the Countryside Alliance Awards saw us scoop the Local Food Award. Then in the Summer, we were a Divine Dining finalist at Trend Life with Style.

Its great to be recognised, but what really is rewarding is getting the feedback from customers who have enjoyed time with TheStore at our now famous Foodie Fridays, themed menu nights and art exhibitions. Whole families had fun at TheStore Farm Open Days with Open Farm Sunday operated by LEAF, bringing more than 1000 visitors to TheStore We were glad to get the wellies off and our feet up after that day!

Always wanted to learn the art of butchery? Well at TheStore now you can with our half day courses.

The day starts with bacon rolls & coffee, followed by a tour of the farm before visiting the butchery and maturation chill. Grant will demonstrate some of his skills before you have a go for yourself. And finally theres a meaty lunch back at TheStore to finish off your day.
