Frequently Asked Questions Q. Are there any restrictions on who can play lawn bowls?A. No – that’s the great thing about holding a lawn bowlsevent! Absolutely everyone over the age of 12 can give it ago irrespective of age, gender, culture or physical ability.

Q. How can we pay for the event?A. We’re pretty flexible and accept cash, chequeor online payments.A 50% deposit is due two weeks before your event.

Q. Is there public transport nearby?A. Several main bus routes run on Melanesia Road andTamaki https://at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/journey-Drive.

Q. Is there parking?A. Yes, we have a dedicated parking lot in addition to freeon-street parking nearby.

Q. How much does it cost?A. Whatever size your budget, we can work with you. Startwith the listed options, and talk to us about your specificrequirements. Chances are we can accommodate most.

Q. I might not know how many people are coming yet,can I still book?A. Of course! Just let us know confirmed numbers fiveworking days before the event so we can make sure wehave enough equipment and experienced bowlers on hand.

Q. Can I bring in my own food and beverages?A. You sure can bring in your own food and decor. If you areself-catering or hiring a caterer for your event just let usknow the details. While we do not provide catering for hireevents, we can recommend local businesses. KBC has alicensed bar and will coordinate with you to provide barservice.

Q. Can we access the venue to setup?A. Yes. By arrangement.

Q. Can I play music?A. Not a problem; just please be mindful of your volume asour neighbours may be trying to relax as well.

Q. What if the weather is awful on my event day?A. We reserve the right to cancel outdoor events and playdue to weather conditions. If appropriate, the Clubhouse may still be used for your event or we will consult with you about rescheduling.

During the summer months, we hold regular social bowls evenings on Wednesday nights. Players are given basic instruction and have-a-go, then are put into teams to play a few games. Or stay warm on Wednesdays during winter with indoor bowls in our clubrooms. While you are playing dinner is sorted, so once your game is finished you can relax with some food and drinks.*
