Die Bredasdorp-polisie doen ’n beroep op alle sakelui omveiligheidsmaatreëls by hul besighede op te skerp ná ’ngewapende roof Maandagoggend om 10:10 by AmericanSwiss in die dorp plaasgevind het.

AO Robina Cupido, woordvoerder van Bredasdorp-po-lisie het gesê die klag van gewapende roof is Maandagby hulle aangemeld. “Na bewering was die klaer om-streeks 10:10 in die winkel toe drie mans instap.”

Twee van die mans het na die vrou geloop en gesê hullewil ’n ring koop. “Terwyl sy met die mans praat, het haarkollega uit die kombuis gekom en die twee mans stap toena haar kollega en begin haar rondstoot.”

Volgens die vrou het die derde man, wat in die deurgestaan het, na die klaer gestap en haar met ’n vuurwapengedreig.

Die mans het toe glo die twee vrouens na die kombuisgeneemwaarhullevasgebindis.Diemanshetaangedringop die kluis se sleutel, waarna hulle vort is met juweliers-ware, selfone en kontant.

“Die totale waarde van die gesteelde items is nog nieop hierdie stadium bekend nie, maar die geskatte waardevan die items wat gesteel is beloop R92 000.”

Kol. Mareé Louw, stasiebevelvoerder van Bredasdorp-polisie versoek besigheidseienaars om hulself te beveiligmet alarmstelsels, CCTV-kameras en paniekknoppiesasook elektroniese veiligheidshekke. “Dit vergemaklikons taak as daar kameras is om die verdagtes uit te ken.Omdat die mense vasgebind is in die winkel, kon hullenie sien met watter voertuie die aanvallers weggery hetnie. Mense moet nie in ’n gemaksone verval omdat hulledink dis veilig in die platteland nie.”

Louw meen misdaad versprei na die platteland omdatgroter druk en meer mannekrag in die stad nou ontplooiis. “Die kriminele kom platteland toe omdat hulle sienmense beveilig nie hul besighede soos in die stad nie.”

Sy sê kriminele doen vooraf observasie by die besighe-de en hou hul doen en late dop. Sy sê sy het opgemerkna dié voorval word elke vreemde voertuig nou as verdaggerapporteer. “Maar hou dit nou asseblief vol, moenieweer ná twee weke ophou paraat wees nie.”

Volgens Louw is niemand is nog in hegtenis geneemin verband met die voorval nie. “En dis vreemd want onsverdagtes kom nooit weg nie.”

Die ondersoek duur voort. Die polisie vra die gemeen-skap indien hulle inligting het om met die polisie in ver-binding te tree by 028 425 400 of om 10111 te skakel.

“Hy het nie vir my gesond gelyk nie,vreeslik bleek en bewerig.”

Diana Bantom, die kassier wat vanWyk gehelp het, het ook gesê hy wasasvaal en swetend.

Op pad uit, het die bekommerde No-gemane agter van Wyk aangestap tot-dat hy in sy bakkie geklim het.

“Hy het gesukkel om sy been te ligom in te klim en toe hy eers in was,het hy ineengestort,” sê Nogemane.

Sy het dadelik haar kollegas in ken-

nis gestel wat die am-bulans ontbied het,maar by hul aankomswas van Wyk reedsdood.

Sy suster, Lien Ya-mouyanis sê hy het al-tyd ’n grappie gehadom te vertel, maar hywasbaieeensaamenal-leen.

“Hy het ook die lek-kerste pizzas op diedorp gemaak en was al-tyd vriendelik. Onsgaan hom geweldigmis.”

trek en hier is geenDebonairs, KFC enSteers nie (dis voorWimpy),maarhetPiz-za World ontdek. Endie man maak die bes-te pizzas. Ons verlangglad nie na Debonairsnie. Gaan hom mis.”

Truisa Snyman seboodskap lui: “As ekgebel het weet hy alwatter soort pizza ekgaan bestel, my kin-ders (my meisiekindveral) wou net daaioom se pizzas hê.

R.I.P. Sterkte aan sy familie en vrien-de.”

Volgens kapt. Gerrit Botes, Caledon-polisie-woordvoerder, is die oorsaakvan sy dood onbekend. “Daar wordtans ’n nadoodse ondersoek gehou.”

A fire destroyed two shacks in Riemvas-maak on Monday morning.The shack of Mamela Sinamele (22) was

razed to the ground.Sinamele says he suspects he did not

turn off his paraffin stove when he left forwork and upon his return he had lost allhis earthly possessions in the fire. The firealso claimed the home of his neighbourwho is currently in prison.Pick n Pay paid a visit to Sinamele on
