Happy New Year! The old cliche’ of “my New Year’s Resolution

is NOT to make any more New Year’sResolutions” has gotten old. So has the same old, same old that I make every year and then let fallby the wayside before January 2nd ... You know, the daily exercise and lose weight routine. Turnover a new leaf and be kind to everybody, nomore candy; eat healthier. This year my new year’sresolution is a promise to myself to be different. Iwill not let my resolutions fall by the wayside. It’s abrand new year and we have so much to be thank-ful for. So I will make brand new resolutions thatI’ve never made before.

January 1 finds The Weekender Magazine moved intonew offices. With more room and more employees, we’llbe expanding into other areas with new issues thisSpring. I’ve learned with this move that I’m a packrat -almost to the level of being a hoarder! So my first NewYear’s Resolution is to organize and throw stuff away.(Well, maybe I should just keep one or two or even threecopies for safe keeping...)

My second resolution is to quit committing to moreresponsibilities than I can handle. It’s just that there areso many places to go, and things to do, and people tosee that I have trouble saying “no.” And all I want to dois share them with you - my readers!

Third, but certainly not last, I will make every attemptto offer more pages covering great events every month, surpassing each issue from before. And with this prom-ise to myself, I won’t break any of my resolutions.Instead, I’ll carry them through all year long.

Stay tuned for our Open House announcement. Weinvite all our readers to join us as we celebrate a newaddress, new offices, new staff and new coverage areasin 2013. My only heartbreak is that Mr. Tim Moore, for-mer boss, inspiration, and original partner for TheWeekender will not be present to witness this grandevent. He went home to be with the Lord in Octoberafter battling a lengthy illness. As a Certified BusinessAdviser for the Ohio Small Business DevelopmentCenter, he was instrumental in encouraging us to makethis move. He was even helping in the search for theright new location. So, Tim, I pay tribute to your memo-ry as we continue to push our dream forward....
