Existing problems have been identified and corrected and new challenges are being met and dealt with successfully. We are living on an open Job site which creates inconveniences for the residents. Your patience has been greatly appreci- ated and the end result will not only enhance the appearance of the property, it will also increase the value of your property. Hurricane season is upon us! “BE PREPARED” Time to stock up on water, can goods, batteries, flashlights etc. Check your evac- uation plan to make sure it is current. Martin

County has shelters for individuals with special needs and they will coordinate transportation for you. Please register with Martin County as soon as possible. Enjoy your summer! Doris Brennan, President

From the Manager Greetings Circle Bay, Our roofing project is currently at building 5. We are also back to replacing carport metal with the poles and outside framing getting a fresh paint job. Thank you for your continued flexibility with parking. The schedule going forward has changed. Instead of going to building 14 and working forward the work will proceed to building 10 from building 5. It will then go to 12, 14, 13, 11, 9 and conclude at the Clubhouse. If you have any questions or con-cerns regarding this scheduling, please contact the office or email me at [email protected]. If you have any maintenance issues, let me encourage you to put in a work order even if you have spoken to either Josh or me about a matter. I am realizing that people are mistaking me for Josh or vice versa when I am out on the property and some requests could get delayed. I want to thank Frank and Diane McDonough once again for a wonderful job on updating our fountain and pond area. It is truly inviting. Boaters, we recently completed the sound-ing for both basins and are waiting on a report. This report will give us an idea of when we will need to dredge in the future. I will update you when we receive the information. If you have departed Circle Bay for the summer, enjoy, and contact us in the office if need-ed. Thank you, Todd Harper Association Manager

A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE The Circle Bay Yacht and Sailing Club sponsored the Annual Mother's Day Breakfast on the Deck Sunday, May 12, 2019. Thirty-nine guests were treated to a full breakfast "made to order" that in-cluded eggs, pancakes, sausages, sweet rolls, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. Our volunteer chefs did an outstanding job, thanks to all. Volunteers in-

cluded Marvin Beaupre, Werner Bols, Dick Bonnell, Tony Contarino, Charlie Denby, Tom Essenburg, Ed Grimpe, Marie McCool, Keijo Runnakko and Mary Stewart. Dennis Stewart, Director CBY&SC The Annual Memorial Day Celebration sponsored by the Yacht Club was held on May 25, 2019 and was organized by Adele Norton with the help of Pat Atkinson and many volunteers. Everyone gathered at the flag pole for the lowering of the flag to half mast with the playing of taps for fallen veterans. Four ROTC members pre-sented the Colors and there were members of the VFW present also. The group then proceeded inside where Pat Atkinson recognized all current and past Circle Bay veterans. Pat was presented with a dozen red ros-es in recognition of her past contributions to this event. Adele Norton along with the ROTC mem-bers performed the POW/MIA ceremony which is quite moving, We had two guest speakers and our own Ginny Gande spoke about what it means to be a member of our Armed Forces. Following this was a "good old fashioned" Bar-B-Q on the deck. Special thanks to Pat Atkinson, Charlie Denby, Larry Bryant, George Hohenstein, Sheryl Essenburg, Lee Weeks, Marie McCool, Toby Hohenstein, George and Betty Trieber, Werner Bols, Helen O'Brien and Sue Murtha. Adele Norton, Quartermaster CBY&SC

Social Activities Friday Night Socials have been attracting a good sized group. Average is about sixteen which is great for this time of the year. Kyle Gs was the spot for the May ladies' luncheon. There were twenty-two gals in the group and as always there was much chatter and some really great food. Bea LaBarre made mention of Lorrie Markarian moving and thanked her for her many years of service to the community as Social Chairperson. On June 13th the ladies luncheon will be held at Sailors Return. Don't forget to call Bea LaBarre (772-286-2094) to make your reservation.

There will be a High Tea to attend on Tues-day, June 25th at the Diamond Tea Room and Bis-tro on Dixie Highway in Stuart. Make your reserva-tion with Judy Runnakko (954-918-8200), and la-dies, if you own a hat, why not wear it? Friday Night Socials are on summer sched-ule. You know the drill… first to arrive start setting up; all help clean up. Why not join the group… you might enjoy it and become a regular! Ginny Gande

Hurricanes Once again that season is here! If you are leaving your vessel at the dock you MUST have 4 - 100' (minimum) of line to tie off with. Chafe gear: Your lines are only as good as the gear you use. Towels are useless! Swim noodles, useless! If we have a hurricane that is threatening, we will Robo call you to standby for further instruc-tions. We will have a skippers meeting in the Clubhouse at 0800 hrs on the morning that we will be commencing the tie-offs.

All vessels intending to leave prior to this operation MUST be out of the basins the night be-fore, or PRIOR to 0800 hrs. that morning. Thanks for your cooperation. Tom Ahern Dockmaster

In Memoriam It is with regret that the Circle Bay community notes the demise of Jim Billitch (12-302). He and his wife, Sharon are one of the newest residents to Circle Bay. Jim passed away suddenly on April 26th. According to his neighbor he was a friendly person who looked forward to boating in the area. The residents of Circle Bay extend their sympathy to his wife Sharon and to his family.

Thank You Joe Urban After an approximate 24 hour slow down of our internet system just recently, Joe was able to get us up and running again. Joe, the community appreciates all you do to keep things running smoothly.

The Pond Many years ago Sue and Bob Krauss built the little fish pond by the deck. They would be so pleased to see it today. This little place of tranquil-ity has been brought back to life by two Circle Bay residents. Diane & Frank McDonough (6-207) have spent many hours weed-ing, planting, and clean-ing up the area and then refurbishing the pond itself. They also added some lights to the area so it is illuminated from dusk to 10:00 PM. These wonderful people continue to tend the garden and make sure the water in the pond is

kept clean. Here's a big THANK YOU to them for their efforts to keep Circle Bay beautiful.
