CoIey to edit this issue. The contents of the May number are noteworthy in that Dr. CoIey has presented a truIy “a11 star cast.” Every contributor is a man of nationa or worId-wide reputation. Dr. CoIey has set a precedent that wiI1 stand as an editoria1 achievement for a Iong time. The American JournaI of Surgery begins its fourth year under the imprint of PauI B. Hoeber, Inc., with great expectations for the future. In the past year it has added severa thousand new subscribers to its Iists. We have received hundreds of Ietters from readers from a11parts of the country teIIing us they Iiked the materia1 offered them. Many made heIpfu1 suggestions which we are putting into effect. What pIeases one does not pIease the other and no one can satisfy everyone a11 the time, but on the whoIe the great majority of our readers seem to have found the JOURNALand its practica1 everyday workabIe type of articIe to their liking. We have spIendid pIans for the future. We have materia1 in hand for some notabIe issues. We can assure our readers about one hundred and fifty pages of interesting reading matter each month.
