Blue Mountains UFO Research Club. The Club meetings are held on the third Saturday of the month, at

the Gilroy residence, 12 Kamillaroi Road, South Katoomba, from 2pm onwards.

We are situated on the corner of Kamillaroi Road and Ficus Street, and as we always say, park in Ficus Street wherethere is safer parking.

UNCOVERING THE MYSTERIES OF OLD URU.by Rex Gilroy.

Copyright Rex Gilroy 2010.Parallel with the changes to Blue Mountains UFO Research Club and the dividing of our newsletter into two[ie Blue Mountains UFO Research Club Newsletter for all UFOlogical material and The temple of Nim forarchaeological, historical, cryptozoological and relict hominological matters], we welcome into our ranksMihaela Hilla of Sydney as our new top female field assistant. Now together with our leading male assistantGreg Foster, our Club can pride itself on having the two best field assistants in the country. Hopefully in amatter of months once Heather has had her knee replacement surgery and is back on her feet, there will bethe four of us in the field.

Mihaela has already proven irreplaceable. Besides her recent discovery of a stone circle deep in theKanangra Boyd wilderness she has begun assisting me with the research of Blue Mountains ley lines andassociated astronomical observatory temples and a Stone-Age Uruan library at one astronomical site, where

she not only assisted me with finding stone tablets containing astronomical information, but also found a rarecarved image of the Uruan Tree of Knowledge and Life. Mihaela and I have also had a great success in lightenergy orb research for a future book. Together with Greg and I she is also helping to uncover further Uruancultural remains which will feature future books on this civilisation, particularly our current project which is abook on the Uru megalithic civilisation emphasising the beginnings of Pagan nature-worship practices which

were eventually to form the fertility worship origins of later Christianity and other religions. This particularbook is a major undertaking which I could not have accomplished alone.

With the recent Yengo National Park Egypto-Phoenician and Celtic ogham [and temple] site findsmade by Greg and I, 2010 has gotten off to a great start research wise and it looks like the year ahead is goingto be one of our most successful for historical discoveries. I also see a big year for UFO-related research byour Club, with Gilroy research team investigations of the on-going Burragorang mystery and plenty of

Skywatches.Only current wet weather has prevented Mihaela, Heather and I from making astro-archaeological

investigations at Blue Mountains sites and also in the central west, but March appears to be a good monthcoming up with fine weather.

As I write the Gilroys and Greg Foster are about to make a weekday investigation of new Uru sitesnorth of Sydney which surely promise some new surprises.

*****As soon as our URU Productions first documentary concerning the Yowie is completed [just two

scenes left to shoot] work will begin upon another concerning the Uru civilisation. Meanwhile books on UFOsubjects from the files of Blue Mountains UFO Research Clubwill soon be going to disc ready for the printers, showing other UFOlogists nationwide what our Club researchers have been accomplishing lately.

Meanwhile, the re-vamping of our Club is certain to attract more UFO-minded people to ourmeetings. Members can expect some surprises as 2010 gets under way

ANOTHERCRETACEOUS REPTILE FOSSIL RECOVERED ONNARROW NECKPLATEAU.

by Rex GilroyCopyright Rex Gilroy 2010.

The Narrow Neck Plateau rivals other areas of the Blue Mountains for evidence of dinosaurs and marinereptiles of the Triassic [208-245 million years ago] and Cretaceous [66-144 million years ago] periods.250 million years ago during Triassic times the Blue Mountains were yet to be pushed up by

subterranean geological events and a primordial ocean covered the region inland as far as Lithgow as well as alot more or what is today eastern Australia.

At the time of the gradual rise of what are today the Blue Mountains, marine reptiles swam in thesewaters. This is already certain as from the mineralised partly preserved [mummified] form of a Kronosaurusat a lookout. The ironstone fossil has lain on its clifftop location since Triassic times about 200 million yearsago. Now only partly intact the reptile may have been dead when washed ashore upon a beach where it wasquickly buried under layers of sand, thus helping to preserve the creature.

Kronosaurs were shorter-necked plesiosaurs. Measurements carried out on this fossil show it to have

had a full head to tail length of at least 9.54 metres, with the head/neck area being 2.35 metres long, the tailbeing 1.4 metres long. What is visible above the solid rock shows that the creatures body was lying in acurved position, the body being up to 1.1m visible depth. The paddle-like flippers of the left side were buriedbeneath the body, while the right set are visible. The front paddle appears whale-like and is 1.6 metres long by80cm wide at the centre and 1.2 metres wide at the base. The rear paddle appears arrowhead-like in shape andmeasures 1.2 metres long by 5.5cm across the base of the arrowhead and 70cm wide at the base of the entireflipper. The flippers are spaced 1.8 metres apart. The gap between the head and the front flipper is 75cm andthat between the curved tail and the rear paddle is 1.34 metres.

When I was first shown this unique fossil by the late Gloria Greaves in 1969 and published a reporton it I was severely criticised by an Australian Museum, Sydney palaeontologist who informed the media thatThere was no evidence of dinosaurs and marine reptiles anywhere on the Blue Mountains!

How wrong he was, considering all the fossil tracks, a small skull, claws, teeth and other bits andpieces of these reptilian nightmares that have since been uncovered on the Blue Mountains by myself andleading [male] field assistant Greg Foster. The desk-professor concerned was later shown the mummifiedKronosaurus and went silent on the subject thereafter!

Land-dwelling Triassic and later Cretaceous dinosaurs of both the quadruped and biped forms haveleft their often large fossil tracks on the Blue Mountains. A number of quadruped tracks are known at onelower Blue Mountains location while a small example exists at Wentworth Falls. If not a smaller example of alarge biped, it may have been made by one of the smaller species.

Signs of the Triassic ocean are to be found out on Narrow Neck Plateau, where on Wednesday 10 thFebruary 2010, while walking on the dirt fire trail on a slope with a valley view, as I stood admiring thescenery, I chanced to look down to see lying exposed in rubble from recent heavy rainstorms, the weathered

vertebrae of a Triassic reptile. It did not take me long to see that it was the [mid] tail vertebrae of a Plesiosaur. The fossil, at least 200 million years old, showed signs of slight distortion caused by probably heavy

overlying sedimentation that had covered the creature soon after death, and a sliver of [mineralised] bone ismissing from the single fluke that extends along the top of the vertebrae. Aside from other fragments ofmineralised bone missing from both ends of the specimen, the hole through which the major tail blood vesselextended is present [filled with hard-packed dirt until cleaned out].

The fossil measures 8.5cm in length by 10.5cm in depth and 8.3cm in width. I estimate that the reptileto whom it once belonged may have measured up to 8 metres from head to tail tip.

The species to which this vertebrae belonged remains unestablished, and it could have belonged toany one of a growing number of Australian Plesiosaur species lately coming to light through the work ofscientists, particularly at sites in Queensland and Victoria. The Blue Mountains appears to have some

    surprises to reveal.-0-

The second inscription contained a rare glyph, this being only the second found by the Gilroys inAustralia, the other being at Katoomba. It was the glyph for horned Baaland the inscription had me workinginto the night after we got home. It stated:

This stone is placed here to the Horned Serpent. He the Tree of Life which is pleasant. Thus at this place we cry Pure art thou

O Tree of Life which is pleasant at whose stone

we all gather to worship he of the black hair*[*Baal].

There was a rock shoal on the [at this time] dried up creek and upon it was the fading engraving of anancient Egyptian sceptre, 2.3m long by 10cm wide on the sceptre and to it left glyphs reading:

Behold the sceptre of authority of our ruler Tara. The Eye of serpent Baal watches over her and sees all.

Here was the name of an apparent Bronze-Age Queen of the great kingdom. Yet we were in foranother surprise, for across the creek bed lay a stone which we measured at 77cm long by 60cm wide and39cm deep. It was, we found, coated in Phoenician script, and had once been meant to stand upright becausethe flat summit was an altar bearing the relief carving of a head, that of Baal in profile, his pointed headdenoting his Phrygian cap. The inscription engraved on one side of the stone read:

Serpent Sun Baal, Eye of Baal,At this dark stone leave offerings.

To Baal the Sun. Behold the Eye of Baal the dark haired.Baal of the Waters. On this stone leave offerings.

These finds told us that somewhere in the surrounding dense forest further remains of an Egypto-Phoenician/Celtic presence must await discovery.

Investigating deeper into the forest country I spotted what turned out to be a tall tree-covered, four-sided hill. Time prevented us making an inspection, but I have a strong feeling that this hill had once beendeliberately shaped into pyramid form by the ancient colonists.

Here is something that is certain to draw us back for a proper investigation of the structure. Apyramid would not have been constructed unless a settlement of considerable size existed nearby, and as we

drove home we asked ourselves, does the Yengo wilderness cover the remains of a lost Bronze-Age city, established here when the Gosford colony was at its height?
