Determine Your Hardware Width

Rod width does not include the width of the finialson each end. Finials add 2” to 8” in width on eachend, depending on the finial style. We recommenda 5” overlap on each side of the window. For exampleif your window is 50” wide, you would normally ordera 60” length rod and the overall finished width wouldbe 64” to 84” depending upon the finial style.

Measuring Tips

- Always use a steel tape measure. All dimensionsshould be taken to the nearest 1/4 inch.

- Double check to make sure that you haven’ttransposed width and height measurements.

- Measure every window. Windows that look identicaloften are not.

To order a bay window rod set correctly, you need to providethe separate measurement of each section of the bay area wall(shown here as A, B and C) and the degree of each wall angle(shown here as Angle #1 and Angle #2).

If you would like us to determine the angles, you will need toadditionally provide the opening width of the bay.

We will calculate your rod size based on these measurementsand rod style you select. Our standard calculationsallow for the finials to be just short of the outsideof the opening. If you wish them to project outpast the opening or be held short, please providethe desired distances.

All Traverse Rod sets include aluminum traverse track embedded in wood pole, with master carriers , drapery carriers, end stops and baton(s). For one-way Traverse draw, indicate “R” on the order form for right draw or “L” for left draw. * Standard rods wider than 96” will be made using two equal length segments joined using a rod connector in the middle of the rod unless otherwise requested. Traverse rods wider than 96” are available in one segment upon request and must be shipped via LTL truck - additional freight charges apply.No finials on inside mount rod sets. When determining rod width for inside mount rods, deduct 1/2” to account for width of brackets. Double rod sets feature end cap finials on 1-3/8 diameter back rod.
